Middleport Pottery
Middleport Pottery is a Grade II*-Listed Award-Winning Visitor Attraction in the heart of Stoke-on-Trent that is located on the banks of the Trent & Mersey Canal. Whether arriving by car, narrowboat or visiting as part of your canal walk, there is no need to leave your four-legged friend behind as we are a dog-friendly attraction that welcomes dogs and their well-behaved owners onsite.
Come & explore the Heritage Trail and learn about the history of Middleport Pottery & The Potteries’. You will step back to the Victorian era visiting the original Victorian Offices, Mould Store, Bathe House, Steam Engine, Placing House and you can even step inside a Bottle Oven. Then step across the road to Harper Street and see how they lived during the 1950's in the Lodge Keeper's House.
Take a seat in our theatre room and watch our Virtual Factory Tour which gives you a behind the scenes look at the production processes of Burleigh Pottery, which after 130 years is still made onsite at Middleport to this day.
Then enjoy something to eat at the Packing House Café with indoor or outdoor canal side seating, you can enjoy coffee & cake, full-English breakfast, sandwiches, soup or toasties or sample a taste of Staffordshire with filled Staffordshire Oatcakes or homemade traditional Staffordshire Lobby There is also dog menu available. Why not book in advance and treat yourself to Afternoon Tea.
Then shop at the independent traders of Port Street Range & Harper Street, the Burleigh factory shop or the Middleport Pottery gift shop and take home a souvenir of your day. It’s a great day out!
