Lofthouse Colliery Nature Park Heritage Trail
Located 3 miles north of Wakefield, Lofthouse Colliery Nature Park consists of woodland, heathland, playing fields and a pond. This trail of approx 3.7km around the old pit site of a former coal mine has information boards with facts about the history of the Colliery as well as a monument to the disaster which occurred there in March 1973
Access by turning from Potovens Lane onto Ridings way at the pit wheel and continue to end of road.
