Game of Thrones Locations North Coast
Northern Ireland is one of the main filming locations for the World famous TV series Game of Thrones®. The locations are accessible by foot and dogs are permitted on leads at most locations. (A car will be required). Dark Hedges (Kings Road), Dunluce Castle (House of Greyjoy) Fair Head (Dragonstone Cliffs and Jon Snow) Portstewart Strand (Scene of Sandsnakes and Coast of Dorne) Ballintoy Harbour (Iron Islands). Pick up a Game of Thrones passport at any of the tourist information centres, and also download the app from the www.discovernorthernireland.com Game of Thrones locations app.
When you are ready for some food on the North Coast, there are a couploe of dog friendly options:- pop into the fabulous Harry’s Shack on Portstewart Strand – Coast of Dorne Beach, where you will taste some of Northern Ireland’s best food. Favourite dish: Fish and chips. Outside area is covered and dog friendly and you won’t find a more spectacular setting when the sun shines or sets. To get a real Game of Thrones experience you can also bring your dog inside to the Fullerton Arms Bistro (at Ballintoy aka Iron Islands) where you will not only see one of the seven Game of Thrones doors, but also have the opportunity to sit on the Iron Throne!
