Sustrans coast to coast cycle track runs right by the woods to the rear and there are delightful walks from the door. The surrounding villages are full of friendly country pubs. Only a 10 minute drive takes you to The Riverside International Cricket Ground; home of Durham Cricket team, and with the Metro Centre only 20 minutes and the coast around 30 minutes.
