Out & About Ceredigion

Walking, cycling, surfing, kayaking, golf and horse riding are just a few of the many ways to enjoy this lovely part of Wales. One of the most rural counties in Wales, overlooking Cardigan Bay, Ceredigion offers unspoilt countryside and uncrowded beaches. Much of the coastline is designated as a `heritage coast', and is one of Britain's most diverse areas for marine wildlife. 

The coast is home to a resident pod of some 130 bottlenose dolphins as well as porpoises and grey seals. Eco-friendly boat trips to fully experience the coastline and its wildlife run frequently in the summer months from New Quay and Aberaeron. Hidden coves and sandy beaches also allow you to escape from the crowds. Inland the countryside is a green vastness of hills and valleys dotted with small villages and market towns. 

There are several nature reserves, home to rare species of flora and fauna. Explore these on one of the many walking trails across the county and for the more adventurous; there is an awesome 35 km mountain biking trail in Nant Bwlch yr Arian high in the Cambrian Mountains.
