Tranmire Cottage is beautifully furnished throughout, with an authentic country charm and careful attention to your comfort. It has received a Cottages.com Customer Choice Award for each of the last four years, due to excellent guest ratings.

Inside the cottage boasts many unique features, from four centuries of history, including wooden beams, fireplaces, Yorkshire slider windows, and window seats. The living room has a range with an open fire, that can be used to supplement the cosy underfloor heating. The master bedroom boasts a fabulous freestanding roll top bath with a rain shower over, great for relaxing in after a day out.

Lastingham is a special place for those who know it. The history of the village goes back to the foundation of a monastery in AD654, the church has unique architecture, and holy wells are named for its three saints. The quintessential pub is extremely popular with locals and travellers alike, for both food and drinks. There are many delightful walks from the doorstep and nearby, including a popular circular walk to Hutton-le-Hole.

The nearby market towns of Helmsley, Kirkbymoorside and Pickering all offer attractive market squares, independent shops and quaint tea rooms. There are many attractions in the area, such as the North Yorkshire Steam Railway which runs from nearby Pickering to Whitby.

Less than 45 minutes away you have the incredible Yorkshire Coastline to discover, which has popular towns such as Whitby, fishing villages and quiet sandy beaches. Those travelling from further afield may also want to take the opportunity to visit York.

The garden is shared with the neighbouring owners, but aside from tending to the chickens and vegetable patch, they’ll leave you to enjoy the fresh air whilst having drinks or a BBQ. You can of course collect your own eggs for breakfast, though some are provided along with other special welcome gifts.

The cottage is rated More Than Dog Friendly, with three permitted to stay, more on request. A dog welcome hamper is provided with throws for sofas, towels, bowls, treats, tags. A Woof Guide with specific information for dogs and their owners is also provided. The garden is surrounded by a low stone wall, and then 4ft stock fencing. Dogs can also be exercised in the surrounding 2-acre field. The village pub is now dog-friendly inside as well as out, as are most in the local area.
