The Potting Shed

The Potting Shed is perfect for a short break or longer holiday and with our special discounts, the longer you stay the better the price! Dogs and Dartmoor go together and we welcome well-behaved dogs. Whether you are a keen walker and want to tackle Dartmoor, are more of a stroller along rivers and lanes, or just want a base from which to explore the whole gorgeous county of Devon, the Potting Shed is ideal! It's compact but has everything you need.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, hob, convection oven/microwave/grill, slow cooker, cafetiere, all cutlery, crockery and cooking pans and utensils.

The lounge area has a TV with Freeview, an extendable dining table and a selection of books and games. There is also a small imitation log burner for extra cosiness on a winter's night!

The bedroom area has a wardrobe and small chests of drawers and a very comfortable double bed. There's a separate walk-in showerroom.

Your well-behaved dog is very welcome and we do ask that it is at least one year old. The Potting Shed can accommodate one medium to large dog or a couple of smaller ones. You'll find dog towels, bowls and some dog biscuits to welcome your pooch. Outside there is a small enclosed area perfect for letting your dog do its stuff. It is fenced to a height of 3 feet. Dogs must not be left unaccompanied in the Potting Shed. A great many pubs, cafés and attractions are dog-friendly and Devon generally rates very highly for welcoming woofers. We have our own German Wirehaired Pointer, Moss, who is very friendly and loves meeting new pals!

The walking here is fantastic! You can take a different route every day for a week right from the doorstep. Moorland, rivers, lanes, there's miles and miles to explore. There is lots of livestock on the moor so dogs MUST be kept under control.

The Potting Shed is next to a working farm and you will occasionally hear farm-related noises - such as a tractor, cows mooing, dogs barking etc. it's proper country living! The building itself is down a narrow drive, well away from the road, and set within my private garden, so there is no passing traffic. At night it is usually blissfully quiet, with nothing but a clear, star-studded sky to distract you.
