Read MoreThe Property Set in 16 acres of woodland, just upstream from the village of Calstock this romantic cottage is nestled in the hillside overlooking the river Tamar. A location where you can truly relax, listening to the songbirds and take in the breathtaking panoramic views across the River Tamar to the rolling Devon hills on the other side. Set amongst the oak and beech trees you will also find the ivy-clad ruins of Okel Tor Mine. In its heyday a thriving tin, copper, lead and arsenic mine – today a secluded Ancient Monument, a haven for wildlife and the location of where this peaceful retreat rests. The Count House 150 years ago was the former mine captain’s office, where the miners were paid the ore assessed to check its purity. Now modernised and decorated with a luxury feel it’s far from its former use but with the wonkey walls and jutted roof you can still appreciate the charm of the past. Entering this one level easy access cottage into the open plan living room and kitchen, the kitchen is fully stocked with all you need for cooking and a dining table in front of the window offering extensive views of the rolling hills opposite. The living area boasts a log fire, perfect for colder evenings to enjoy and relax in front of. Off the living area is the main spacious double bedroom with king size bed with en suite bathroom, shower, wc and sink. Central heating and hot water are supplied by a carbon-neutral wood pellet boiler. The Finer Details: Pet friendly for two dogs – additional dogs or other species by agreement.
