Stone's Throw Cottage

The space: The cottage benefits from original Victorian features, but has been fully updated with modern and stylish decor. The lounge has beautiful bay windows to the front, a large U-shaped sofa and double sofa, an open fire and tv. In the dining room a wooden table seats 8 next to another open fire. The modern kitchen is a good size with a breakfast table and 2 benches at one end. It is very well equipped and has an American fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and washer-dryer. The garden room sits adjacent to the kitchen, and with two huge wicker chairs and floor cushions it tends to be everyone's favourite space. A desk at one end provides a bright and pleasant spot for remote working if needed. The downstairs wetroom and shower is useful after a day at the beach. Both front and back outside spaces are fully enclosed - the courtyard-style back garden with BBQ and outdoor seating is perfect for summer evenings, and the front garden has a small lawn and comfy bench perfectly positioned for the morning sunshine. On the first floor, a gorgeous superking 4-poster bed can be found in the master bedroom for a restful night's sleep, and in the morning you can step onto the balcony to watch the seagulls and breathe in the sea air. The second bedroom is a serene double with a lovely cushioned bench seat and reclaimed wardrobe. The large main bathroom has both bath and walk-in shower. Stairs to the second floor bring you into the children's room with four single beds, one in each corner. The beds are caravan size, slightly narrower than standard, and two have built in side bars. Designed for kids with a fitted stairgate, black out blinds, and tv. Travel cot available if needed. The cottage is well equipped throughout to ensure your stay is as hassle-free as possible. Linen and towels are provided. Perfectly suited for families, with toys, books and games, and all you need for babies and toddlers including high chair, children's plates/cups/cutlery etc, travel cot and stairgates. Guest access: The cottage has a private drive for one large or 2 small cars, and on street parking is free. The area: We love Gorleston for its friendly and relaxed vibe, and there are many wonderful cafes, restaurants and pubs within walking distance of the cottage. The Cliff Hotel opposite has a beautiful outdoor terrace overlooking the sea, and serves food and drink, from a morning bacon sandwich through to evening meals. A range of shops are easily accessible on the High Street. As well as the beautiful beach, Gorleston has a splash park, model boating lake, theatre, cinema, playground, outdoor sports courts, and a bandstand, where you may be able to watch live music. It is just a few minutes from Great Yarmouth which provides the full 'seaside' experience with the Pier, arcades, rides, adventure golf and more. It is also just a few minutes from the Norfolk Broads where you can enjoy walks, bike rides or hire a boat to explore from the waterways.
