Solid Luxury, Conifer Lodges

Shona, August 2023

As we come to the end of our 7th stay at Conifer Lodges in Newton Stewart I would like to share why myself, my husband and my two Rhodesian Ridgebacks love our holidays here. We have stayed in Conifer Lodges 13 (x2), 25, 7 (x2) and 6. This year we went romantic staying at 6 Kestral Lodge at Auchendoon, Conifer lodges. The reason we come back pure and simpley is the fact that they are luxurious and completely dog friendly. The site has a variety of Lodges, all have a fenced area round them so you can enjoy your hot tub with the knowledge the dogs won't run off. The floors of the Lodges are all wooden, therefore it is easy to come in from a walk from the woods, the golf course or a walk into the town without the worry of messing the carpets up with wet feet. Around the site there are many beautiful walks. On the site dogs are restricted to be kept on the lead, everyone is friendly on the site and sticks to the rules. It is only a short walk from the lodge to find a space where the dogs can be let off for a run. In the town which is a 15 minute walk. Its a lovely walk either along the Riverside or down the golf course there are places that are dog friendly such as, the Crea Inn, Belted Galloway and the CreaBridge Hotel, to name a few. You mustn't leave the dogs on their own in the lodge so being able to go to dog friendly pubs and cafes is a bonus. You can also have a bbq at your lodge or order a takeaway from the Chinese,. Indian or pizza takeaways. The Indian is very good and delivers. In the town there are 2.large supermarkets Aldi and Sainsburys along with smaller shops such as the Co-op. The site is very quiet, it is very rare someone walks passed your lodge therefore the dogs can snooze iinside or outside.without being disturbed. We just can't wait to.come back and relax at Conifer Lodges in the future. The lodge has everything you will need in the kitchen, two comfortable sofas in the living area, lovely sheets and pillows in the beds and a seating area inside and outside for meal times. The lodge has good WiFi which is a bonus. I can't recommend this place enough.
