Poltor Cottage

Poltor Cottage is perfect for those seeking seclusion but not isolation. It is tucked away down a quiet lane and is surrounded by grazing horses. Dating back to the 1800s, the cottage was completely renovated in 2006 and refurbished in 2024. It offers stunning views across fields adjoining the World Heritage Site and the Grade II listed Austen’s Engine House, built in 1831.

This warm and welcoming cottage has two good sized en-suite double bedrooms (one on the ground floor), with king-size beds that can be split into two singles. There is a walk-in shower in the downstairs bedroom, and a bath with shower upstairs. The large kitchen/diner has a fridge freezer, dishwasher and microwave; the sitting room has a 55” HD TV with Netflix, blu-ray player and X-Box 360; and the utility room has a washing machine and tumble dryer. Superfast wi-fi is provided. Throws are provided for both electric reclining sofas. To the rear, there is a patio area and enclosed lawned garden which overlooks the adjacent fields and Engine House with views down to St Austell Bay. The garden bench offers a magnificent sea view. 

Pets are welcome - the cottage can accommodate up to three dogs. There is a shower room with warm water and towels provided – perfect for cleaning dogs after a day on the beach!

The cottage has its own private entrance and an enclosed gated parking area. EV charger. Additional parking is available on the adjacent owner’s property if required.
