We stayed in the Old Farmhouse. It was well-equipped and decorated very well in a homely style. The cottage suited our family and 2 labradors very well although dogs aren’t allowed upstairs understandably and it was easy to shut them downstairs. There was a large boot room and tiled floor from the front door all the way through to the boot room which was ideal for muddy paws. We had the benefit of the log fires although the cottage was toasty and warm throughout our visit in February. I awoke to the sound of the sheep baaing as they were fed one morning which was lovely and despite the storms we did get some sunny parts to the day. There was easy access to a green area for letting the dogs out first thing and a track up to the ridge from the cottage. There are lots of opportunities for walks on the stunning beaches, woodland, marshland and through the castle estate where there is a large lake. It was friendly and we enjoyed the hospitality of the local pub : The King Arthur hotel and The Britannia Inn do good food. There is a little cafe hut at Oxwich beach and a Michelin star restaurant that looked lovely all lit up at nighttime - somewhere we will go on our next visit. The horses roaming around the roads added a special quality. There is a dog-sitting service if you do want to venture into Swansea which is a 30-40 minute drive. The Mumbles had a nice shopping area and lots of pubs/eateries. Great pizza and ice cream at the end of the promenade. It was a fantastic holiday and definitely would love to go back.
