The cottage sleeps 4 persons with two bedrooms. One large bedroom with a king size oak framed bed and Tv with large built in wardrobes , relaxing chair and dressing table with chair and mirror. The second bedroom holds two single beds also with a built in wardrobe, full length mirror, dressing table and chair.

There is a single toilet and a single bathroom with rainfall shower over large bath. The bathroom mirror illuminates by touch and also has a shaving point. A heated towel rail is on constantly to keep towels warm and fresh.

Downstairs you will find a large hallway, a great for placing your dog crate or basket. We do provide one large dog bowl and two small ones for your furry friend. The hallway has a cloakroom cupboard which holds the usual domestic appliances and vacuum cleaner,  but we don't expect you to be doing much of that on your holiday.

From the hallway and into the open lounge/dining area with a large dining table that hosts 6 people should you want to invite friends or family to visit for a meal together. Whilst sitting at the table or on the sofa nearest to the windows, you can look out to the beautiful views across the  village. Outside is an enclosed lower ground fully decked garden with 6ft fence and gate.  You will find a bistro table and four chairs to have those relaxing moments on a morning in the sun with a coffee. The lawn in front of the patio is shared with another two properties. From the lower ground garden you have access to a secret roof top garden accessible via the spiral staircase which takes you to amazing views across the Yorkshire countryside. There are  Rattan chairs with a coffee table, where you can sit and  have  a coffee on an evening, watching the sun setting on the horizon or listen to nature. During the day it is a great sun trap, and you will be forgiven for just wanting to stay there all day.

In the kitchen you will find an electric oven and hob, along with a combination oven/microwave, coffee machine, slow cooker and integrated fridge freezer should you need storage for raw dog food. The kitchen looks out onto the lower decking.

You are welcome to leave your dog only when crated and not more than 2-3 hours.  If you require a dog sitter for your stay, please arrange this before your arrival.  There are a number in the area that you can contact.

In the village is a dog friendly pub, The Black Bull Inn which has a large seating area outside. It's only a few yards from the property. No taxis needed. We have secured a 10% discount off meals for our guests.

In the next village there are another two pubs, both very different depending on what you are looking for. The Farmers Arms in Scorton have given our guests 10% discount from their bill too.

Scorton has a great nature reserve where you can relax and unwind with your dog.  It is requested that dogs are kept on a lead due to the fact their will be animals near by. After your walk if you are feeling energetic, head back into Scorton either by foot or car and visit Ellerton Lakeside Cafe (near Bolton on Swale).  Friendly helpful staff and a lovely gift shop upstairs full of unusual quirky gifts and homeware, whiskey, gin, condiments and many more fantastic things. If you drive from Moulton to Ellerton it is only 10 minutes. Dogs are welcome both inside and outside.  Guests receive 10% discount off their food.  Next door is a small garden centre which you may want to peruse.

Janice and Keith, September 2022

On arrival in the village(following the directions given by the owner) we arrived at our designated parking spot. Following a short walk up some steps, we arrived at the house. On entry in to the hall, with a stone floor, easy to keep clean. A nice large sitting room with 2 settees and a nice dining table. A smart tv on the wall and dvd player. Fully functioning kitchen, only minus a dishwasher. We managed with washing up liquid and a sponge. Up stairs a double bedroom, a single bedroom both light and spacious. A excellent shower in the bathroom, also a separate toilet. A very nice touch was the welcome basket. With dog treats, flapjacks and chocolate. Discount vouchers for various pubs/cafes in the local area. There were dog bowls for your dog and dog toys in a cupboard. Two great outdoor areas, one up a spiral staircase, with excellent views of the area. Overall this was the best dog friendly house we have stayed in for the last 20 yrs. Thanks for the use of your house Sharon and Kevin, the apples made great crumbles.

Wendy McNeill, August 2022

The cottage is amazing and the owners have thought of everything for you and your dog, even down to a wee tag for their collar incase they get lost in the village. Cannot recommend Molton Cottage highly enough.

Janette Wright, August 2022

The owners are exceptional and know exactly what being dog friendly means. It's not just "we accept dogs", it's that "dogs are extremely welcome"

The owners provide all you need, and more for your stay with your canine family. Highly recommended
