Hillside Camping Pods

Hillside Camping Pods. Two craftsman built camping pods set in the Caithness countryside with views towards the sea. There is a separate shower block just a few paces away from the pods, each pod has its own private shower, toilet and sink within the block so no sharing! Each pod is equipped with a double bed, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, television/DVD Player and heating. All towels and bed linen are provided. Each pod is suitable for two people. One dog per pod is welcome and owners can excercise their dog on the grass area around the pods. We kindly request that dogs are kept on a lead due to livestock being in adjacent fields and for the comfort of other guests

We are situated in the village of Auckengill. Five miles from John O'Groats and ten miles from Wick, just a few minutes off the popular North Coast 500 route. Ferries to Orkney are a fifteen minute drive away. The passenger ferry to Orkney leaves from John O'Groats from May to October and the car ferry from Gills Bay runs all year round.

Caithness boasts some beautiful sandy beaches which, even in summer are practically deserted, ideal for giving your dog a good run! The Castle of Mey which is the former home of the Queen Mother is about 25 minutes away. If you are staying in autumn or winter you may be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights.

We are able to look after your dog if necessary between 7am and 10pm, a fee applies.

Please be aware that we have dogs and although they are not allowed near the pods you may hear some barking when they get excited about walkies time!
