This delightful, single-storey cottage is ideal for a small family to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this wonderful region of Scotland.. Elcaila Cottage is a pretty, semi-detached, single-storey cottage set in its own attractive gardens, in a quiet no through lane. It is situated in the scenic and tranquil village of Rogart in the heart of the beautiful county of Sutherland. Elcaila Cottage enjoys lovely views across the hills from its elevated position. The main living room has a warm, welcoming ambience, with a wood burner acting as a focal point. There are two pretty bedrooms, both beautifully presented with colour-coordinated soft furnishings. With a double and a twin room, it is ideal for couples and smaller families. The kitchen/dining room is well equipped with all modern appliances. A family bathroom completes the picture. The gardens are a real delight, with lawns, flowering shrubs and borders surrounding the cottage.Rogart is a charming traditional stone village with a thriving village pub and restaurant, as well as a village shop and post office, all within easy walking distance. There is also a railway station. There are plenty of places to visit and sights to see in this delightful and unspoilt area of the Highlands. It is steeped in history, with numerous archaeological sites, along with romantic castles such as Dunrobin, seat of the Dukes of Sutherland. The area has plenty to offer those who are looking for an active holiday, with mountain biking trails, golf, fishing, hill walking and various water sports all enjoyed locally. Climb Ben Bhraggie, for spectacular views of the surrounding coast, watch salmon leap at the nearby Falls of Shin, tour the local distilleries and explore the wide sandy beaches that abound in this area. The picturesque seaside town of Dornoch, with its award-winning sandy beach and championship golf course, is just a 15-minute drive away. It is also just 5 miles from the renowned North Coast 500 route, which encompasses some of the most scenic and dramatic scenery to be found anywhere in the British Isles. Beach 10 miles.
