East Lodge

Built in the early 19th century, East Lodge is one of a pair of listed gate lodges which stand at the entrance to the West Park Estate(see also West Lodge ref. 988967). This charming bolthole has been completely refurbished and imaginatively extended to provide quirky and charming holiday accommodation which has been graded 4 stars and given a Gold Awarded by Visit England. All the accommodation is at ground floor level for ease of access. Step inside ad you'll find light filled, octagonal shaped rooms, combining stylish decor and furnishings with top-notch, contemporary kitchen and bathroom fittings. We guarantee it will not be like anywhere you've stayed before! The lodges at West Park are situated at one end of the picturesque ancient village of Rockbourne. A walk through the village takes you past many thatched brick and timber cottages alongside the bourne (stream). The Rose and Thistle pub is at the other end , a stroll back could include a visit to the 11th/12th century church of Saint Andrew with its flint structure ans tiled roof. The famous Rockbourne Roman Villa is a short walk away from the lodges. I All ground floor: Entrance hallway with a door through to the courtyard garden. One bedroom with a king size bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe. Bathroom with bath incorporating an over the bath shower. Open plan living/dining/kitchen area with an outlook over paddocks. Living area has an open fireplace, sofa, window seat, dining table/chairs and french windows opening out onto a courtyard garden. Fitted kitchen area with induction hob, fan oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. Stone floors with a carpeted bedroom. Outside paved courtyard garden with a bench, garden table and chairs. Home-made meals, breakfast hamper and delivery of local produce by arrangement with the owner. Pets welcome. This property is more suitable for older children and adults but but babies welcome. Sorry. no smoking. Walking distance to three popular pubs.
