Compass Cottage

Sleeps: 4

A cosy cottage with styling reminiscent of beach hut romance, tucked away on the edge of the popular beachside village resort of Saundersfoot and just a short walk to sandy beaches. A perfect base to retreat to and relax for friends and family looking to make the most of the fantastic Pembrokeshire beaches yet being a stone’s throw from all a busy seaside resort offers. Set over one floor, there are two comfy bedrooms with the family bathroom. There is a compact kitchen, everything you need to prepare your picnic for a day out exploring the coastline. There is a lovely light and airy sitting room with dining area, the light floods in the tall windows making the property feel deceptively spacious with comfy seating, perfect to enjoy a relaxing cup of coffee whatever the weather. Outside, you can sit in the enclosed garden that wraps around the cottage, perfect to retreat to for an evening meal after a busy day on the beach. Saundersfoot is a delightful harbour town with sandy beaches stretching in both directions, you may want to park the car and ease into the rhythm of the seaside village life, with the fabulous Wales Coastal Path opening up fantastic walks to local beaches in both directions. However, should you wish to explore further you will be spoilt for choice. You are ideally placed to visit a fantastic selection of theme parks with Oakwood, Manor House Wildlife Park, Folly Farm and The Blue Lagoon all within a 20 minute drive. Saundersfoot is in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park so you have almost an unlimited choice of local beaches to choose from, why not take a trip to the famous Pendine Sands, 20 minute drive or visit the pretty walled seaside town of Tenby, 10 minute drive, steeped in history and a perfect venue to partake in some fabulous watersports and wildlife boat trips. The area offers numerous outdoor activities such as dolphin and wildlife spotting boat trips, as well as the opportunity to visit one of the many islands dotting the South Wales Coast such as Caldey. You can try the adrenaline sports of coasteering, more sedate river and sea fishing or perhaps fulfil a dream of riding a horse on the beach. Slightly further afield, within an hour’s drive, you can take a boat to the Isle of Skomer and maybe witness the comedy antics of the resident Puffins or perhaps visit the tiny city of St Davids, with more of a small village feel with its magnificent cathedral. A perfect base to explore Pembrokeshire, enjoy a variety of days out or simply spend the week on the beach.
