Start your scenic walking holiday with an easy amble and set off from Brink Barn with the goal to walk up to Lyme House, a grand and imposing spectacle of a house, used in the classic TV screen adaption of Pride and Prejudice as Pemberley Estate, Mr Darcy's humble abode, set within a 1300-acre park, explore the lavishly decorated house before continuing on your way. A bit further afield, you can visit the beautiful Chatsworth House and the very charming town of Bakewell, which are only a 40 minute drive away. Head West and hop onto the Macclesfield Canal path and walk your way past the locks and barges towards Bollington again, with the ability to add or subtract miles where you want depending on where you get onto the canal. There is lots of outdoor fun for the family, as you can have friendly competitions to name as many birds as you can on your woodland walks, or explore the mines and caverns in Buxton, always a popular choice for memorable fact-finding trips.
