Welcome to Doone Valley Campsite or to those that have been before, 'Carols Campsite'. The campsite is in the heart of Exmoor National Park and at the head of the Doone Valley made famous by Richard Doddridge Blackmore who wrote the novel 'Lorna Doone'This is a family campsite with toilets, hot showers and pot wash. The camp site is comprised of level fields beside a shallow stream set in a valley surrounded by hills and trees, and easy access through the car park at Malmsmead. Horse grazing is available for campers on horseback. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome and campfires are allowed with logs for sale.Not far from the camp site is the Buttery, Riverside licensed Bar and Café.This is an ideal way to get away from it all and experience the natural beauty of Exmoor around you. There are many walks around including the famous Doone Valley walk and if you are very lucky and quiet you may just get to see some deer. If you prefer, horse riding is available from one of the trekking stables in the area. Fishing is also available.Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on the campsite.
