Border Forest Holiday Park

If you have a canine adventurer, prepare to bring them here at doggy paradise -

Stay in England's Last Wilderness

We are a quiet family run holiday park covering 70 acres of land situated next to the National Park - with direct access onto the mighty Kielder Forest.

We are sure your furry friends will love it here too. With miles and miles of fabulous walks directly off our park, dogs with well behaved owners are very welcome.

The area was accredited a Gold-tier International Dark Sky Park award in 2014 and continues to be one of the best spots in the UK to stargaze and we are right in the middle of it!

The park has hardstanding pitches with hook ups and we have camping pods, which all provide a peaceful retreat for those who wish to explore this beautiful region.

There is a small kitchen area and toilets on the lower part of the park (closed Nov- March) and the shower blocks are a short walk from the pitches open all year.

We also welcome Pennine Way walkers carrying their own tents. We do not allow general camping.

We also have self catering accommodations include four lovely comfortable, pet friendly lodges some with hot tubs ( 2 dogs max allowed in lodges and cottages )

Or stay in  our two ‘bijou style’ cottages, the Firtree and Stable, or our contemporary Puffin cottage .

( A small charge is made for doggies in our lodges and cottages)

With its location and its amicable, quiet and family-friendly feel, Border Forest Holiday Park is a popular place for staying in Northumberland

Our team members include Bertie (Chief Labradoodle)  Kaiser (Dapper Doberman). Rita and Bubble the Kunekune piggies and a handful of free roaming chicks

Border Forest is the best place in the world for our four legged friends (well we think it is).

With miles and miles of fabulous walks directly off our park dogs with well behaved owners are very welcome.

We have a designated dog walking area where they can be let off the lead (at your own risk, we don't guarantee that your escapist dogs won't manage to escape!) .

There is no shop, bar or restuarant at Border Forest

The nearest pub is just 4 miles south of us and a small village shop is a 9 mile drive away.

Quiet enjoyment of the park absolute quiet from 11pm until 7am

Border Forest is a quiet, family run site so in keeping with the general quiet nature of our park we ask all our visitors to please respect your fellow guests,

especially if you are entering the park after 10pm

Your doggies must be kept on a controlled lead/tether at all times inside the holiday park. There are two designated dog walking area one at the top of our park and another directly off our park along the track. There are also miles of fab walks directly off our park into the forest.

To avoid any guests treading in anything nasty! – we expect you to clean up after your dogs and place any dog poo in the bins provided.

We allow 3 dogs ( max ) per pitch but if you have more furry members of the family please give us a call to see if we can include them

It's important to note for all dog owners that we do not allow guests to leave their pets unattended on the park or in any accommodation/pitch when they leave the park.

Some dogs behave differently when in unfamiliar surroundings and being left alone can result in animals becoming distressed, which in turn can cause problems for nearby guests and other dogs.

Winter opening;  We are open year round, weather permitting. We strongly advise you call the park in advance during November to April to check the park is open

call 01830 520 259. The communal kitchen area and lower park toilets are closed during these months but the toilet and shower block at the top of the park are open

The park does not accept new arrivals on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day as the reception office is closed.
