2POSH2PITCH WAS FEATURED IN ISSUE 52 OF THE DOGFRIENDLY MAGAZINE

Here is the full review from Emma Bearman:

It’s getting to that time of year where we start thinking towards the summer. With that comes the important decision about where to go on your summer holiday. For our little dog family, we always like to head to the coast. We want gorgeous golden sands, crystal clear waters and an area that will warmly welcome the dogs, as our holiday always revolves around them after all!

2POSH2PITCH

Towards the end of last summer, we packed up our bags and headed to Norfolk for a little weekend away, our first glamping experience to be precise. We arranged our stay through 2Posh2Pitch, a small family run business on the North Norfolk coast. Kate and her family offer unique glamping experiences in their beautiful bell tents. I’m not going to lie, I always get put off at the idea of camping… I think it’s the fact that once we have driven all the way to our destination, we still have to set up camp. Let’s face it, it’s always going to take much longer than anticipated and then probably rain on you in the process. That’s where 2Posh2Pitch comes in. Your bell tent is ready and waiting for you when you arrive. Taking all that extra stress away. I wouldn’t say I was too posh to pitch, but I’m definitely too lazy.

WHITEHALL FARM

Our bell tent was pitched at one of their two camp sites, Whitehall Farm, the other being at Burnham Breck. Situated on a working farm set within the breath-taking Holkham Estate. It was just a short ten-minute drive to the coast. I really couldn’t think of a better base for the weekend. It was a three-hour drive for us to get to Norfolk, add a few traffic jams to the mix and we were so ready to just relax when we arrived. Setting up was just one less thing to have to worry about.

OUR BELL TENT

If having your tent set up ready for you on arrival wasn’t enough you also get the added luxury of staying in one of their picture perfect bell tents. It definitely makes the whole camping experience so much better. You walk through the doors of your tent, to see it kitted out with everything you could possibly need for your stay. With soft colourful rugs and coir matting it is almost as if you are stepping into your own hotel room. The first thing to take your eye will be the real king-size bed – not something you would usually get if you were camping, but it did make the whole camping experience so much better. You can rest up in the comfort of the fluffy king-size duvet after a hard day exploring. What’s even better is that it doesn’t just have to be the two of you, any extra guests (up to four in total) will be supplied with single airbeds with fitted sheets, duvets and pillows. Kate really has tried to think of everything you’ll need to make the most of your glamping experience, but there are a few things you need to bring along with you, such as toiletries, towels, wellies, a camping stove, kettle and some charcoal for the barbie.

Of course, there is always something waiting for their four-legged visitors – the most important guests, of course! There is a nice cosy bed waiting, with a water bowl, treats and a handy tag for you to pop on their collar, just in case your dog decides to go for a wander without you.

DOG FRIENDLY BEACHES

Once we had put our feet up for a little while with a cup of tea, the plan of action was to get our slightly crazed spaniel to the beach. He needed a swim, and fast. It was a matter of urgency. Alfie is such a relaxed dog usually, but when he knows he is on holiday he needs to feel the sand between his toes before he will settle; it’s adorable!

North Norfolk is the perfect location for holidaying with your dog, I would probably go as far as to say it’s one of the most dog friendly coastal locations in the UK. I am yet to find travelling with dogs an issue, whether that’s a run along the beach or a dog friendly restaurant.

When it comes to beaches you are definitely spoilt for choice, our first stop was Brancaster beach. It is the perfect beach to take your dog to let off some steam. The beach goes on for miles. It can be quite a busy beach, but if you take a walk a little further you will easily be able to find your own little bit of beach.

Holkham Beach and Wells-Next-The-Sea are my two favourite beaches.

If you are looking for the perfect beach to spend the day then I’d definitely recommend Holkham Beach. Holkham Beach really was something special. I’d even go as far as to say it may be one of my favourite beaches ever. You’ll need to walk a little way to get to the beach, but it’s through a gorgeous pine forest and sand dunes, so, I wasn’t really complaining! It’s one of those beaches where you can just walk for miles. Then if you are looking for more of a seaside town then Wells-NextThe-Sea is perfect, if you head to the dog beach you can take a walk through the pine forest to the sea.

DINING ALFRESCO

After an afternoon on the beach we were eager to get back to our bell tent to settle down for the evening, which was spent outside enjoying the barbecue that Kate had kindly provided. All we had to do was bring the food. James took on the role of head chef during our stay, cooking up some fabulous dishes for us to enjoy alfresco. On the menu for us was a delicious steak.

Well, I don’t know about you but I’d say our first camping experience was a huge success – even Alfie loved it, and he is a complete princess. He did have to sleep in the big bed just in case the monsters outside decided to eat him.

We had such a wonderful stay, I could not recommend a break with 2Posh2Pitch enough, so much, in fact, that we are planning a trip there again this year.
