Can’t wait to see the dogs dressed in their fabulous Christmas attire!

Walks Etiquette

Below are just a few simple pointers to ensure happy walks. We want everyone to enjoy group walks!

Firstly, please keep an eye on your own dog and make sure he’s not misbehaving or getting lost! If your dog is bothering another (possibly anxious) dog, please stop him, even if you have to put him on a lead.

We all walk at different paces. If you set off at a gallop, please keep glancing behind. Some dogs like to be up front so if you don’t recognise a dog in your little group, please attempt to find his owner. Listen for someone shouting their dog’s name. It’s really easy to lose your dog in a big group!

Some owners choose to keep their dog on a lead for their own good reasons and some dogs have a yellow lead sleeve, vest, harness etc letting people know they are anxious or need space so please watch out for something like that.

Please NEVER feed someone else’s dog without their permission. They might have allergies or food reactions, be a ‘snatcher’ or even just on a diet!

If you’re walking on a beach, park etc and you decide it’s time for you to go home please ALWAYS ensure that someone else’s dog isn’t following you off lead into an unsafe area. After all, they’re sociable little beggars but that could be dangerous if you haven’t realised.

If the weather isn’t as nice as expected, please still attend the walk. It will always go ahead unless an announcement has been made to the contrary. Just come prepared. Your dogs probably won’t care!

But most of all, enjoy yourselves!

MAS walks are primarily for fun, but if you have enjoyed yourself and would like to make a donation to our fund for schnauzers in need please follow this link and giftaid your donation if you are a UK taxpayer:
