The 20 circular routes have been designed with maximum off-lead time and minimum exposure to roads. Each walk varies in length from 3 to 9 miles and has information on the terrain, livestock likely to be encountered and in an emergency, the nearest vets. There are also numbered route instructions, information on how to get to the start and places of interest along the way.

Walks include Crummack Dale with its breathtaking view; through Conistone Old pasture to Conistone Dib; beside the tranquil waters of the Thruscross reservoir in the Washburn Valley and along Gunnerside Gill to The Old Working Smithy with its fascinating history, to name a few.
