South East Coast Collection
A collection of Dog Walking Guides for the South East Coast including Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex
The 20 circular routes in each of these books have information on the distance and terrain, livestock likely to be encountered, number and type of stiles en route and, in an emergency, the nearest veterinary surgery.
KENT
There are walks through the ancient woodland of Toys Hill and Shoreham Woods; the lovely parkland of Penshurst Place and the tranquil scenery of the River Medway. There is also the chance to visit the imposing Cliffe Fort on the Thames Estuary; the intriguing Darnley Mausoleum in Cobham Park; the ancient ruins of Tonbridge Castle and many picturesque villages and towns such as Groombridge, Lenham and Cranbrook.
EAST SUSSEX
Walks include Seven Sisters Country Park, the Cuckmere River, Ashdown Forest, the Cuckoo Trail and Bodiam Castle.
WEST SUSSEX
The routes vary in length from 2 to 6 miles and provide some great walks for dogs and their owners in the superb landscape of West Sussex; exploring the high chalk grasslands of the South Downs; ancient woodland in the Low Weald; and scenic routes by the Ardingly Reservoir. There are plenty of opportunities for dogs to roam safely off lead in St Leonard’s Forest, Houghton Forest or Hammonds Wood. For dogs who love water there are bracing walks by the coast, along the river Adur and the Wey and Arun Canal.
