They were very welcoming to us and our dog even offering a dog bed if we needed it. They have a lot of treats for dogs. They recognised we had an anxious dog and asked if we would like to be at a table out of the way and then promptly prepared at table

The team here are amazing!
We have a very elderly dog and they always find us a quiet table where she can settle in a bed (provided) and have a little Potter around the garden, whilst we wait for our food.
The food is wholesome and tasty with a good selection off vegetarian/vegan offerings and good beer brought to your table with a smile and warm welcome.
All within a short distance of The Downs, Cotswolds and various local dog friendly parks.

Jayne, Miles and the team are amazing and we love taking our dogs, Dexter and Lou as they are made so welcome 🙏 They are spoilt rotten; plenty of water and snacks for them and so looked after, especially when it was really hit with paddling pools etc. Our dogs love going to meet other doggy friends and we love going as a complete family to enjoy the wonderful food, drinks and friendly atmosphere. Definitely recommend 👌

The food, staff and ambience at The Runner are second to non.
It's great to go to eat, take our dog Rex who is good as gold. It also makes the pub experience so much better, because you actually get up and go to meet people with their dogs. have a good chat and get tips on dog walking routes in different areas that I would never have known about.
Miles and Jayne have really turned this pub around, it's always really busy, and has a lovely garden area for the dogs to sit and chill under the tables.

The Runner is exceptional. Jayne is so so friendly and so natural. We have been to the Runner for some time now. We couldn't wait to take our new puppy in recently and he loved it. Really friendly pub. Have been to dog friendly pubs before but this one breaks the mould. It was a hot day and Murphy was given water and treats without even asking. Toys beds and paddling pool absolutely will now be my pub of choice

Doggy ice cream available to buy. Lots of toys, dog beds & activities for them. Lovely garden with stream running through, play area for kids & dogs are free to roam. The Runner is already a great family friendly pub, that has catered for our massive family of up to 15 at a time. Amazing we camped over night in the car park with our 2 pooches and they were so well catered for. There was a doggy menu for them we were offered beds for them to lie on and water and doggy beer so they didn't feel left out. Jayne spent time with the dogs playing with them. There was doggy treats on the bar as well. I highly recommend The Runner as the best dog friendly pub we have stayed at

Visited twice in Feb and April 2022 and on both occasions were greeted like old friends. Our dog Bennie was well catered for with a treat (or two) and was allowed to wander freely to check out all the cushions and doggie beds and meet other dogs. Wonderful food and very relaxing atmosphere.

We visited The Runner for lunch on Sunday 5th September for a long awaited family get together. Our dog was made very welcome, with plenty of space around the table for our dog to sit comfortably. They have thought of the little things too like biscuits, poo bags and dog ice cream so all can be involved. The staff are great and definately one of the best pub restaurants we have been to in ages. To top it off, the food was amazing too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :-)

THE RUNNER is an absolutely stunning place to visit, with its very unique beer garden with a small stream running through it. Even more picturesque setting both the building itself and how they have structured the pub layout and decor to the beer garden itself. So, back to the dog's. As soon as we arrived, there were 8 dogs bowls of all of all sizes completely full; it's was about 24oC, all available to pick up and take to your table! By the bowls was a little sign given prices for dog ice cream and dog beer :D All very reasonably priced and wouldn't put any dog owner off from buying! Staff were fab with the dogs; clearly dog lovers themselves!! At the end of the meal the manager even came out and asked if the pooches enjoyed their ice cream. Honestly, overall the pub is very accommodating and welcoming of dogs!!

Really great place to take your dog and they really look after them there. Took our puppy in there, they got him water bowl, a bed for a good doggy nap and gave him such a fuss. He got to play with the owners dogs and was really sad when it was time to go. They allow dogs both inside and out. You can grab a good bite to eat, nice drink and have the company of your four legged friend.

My dog suffers from separation anxiety so being left at home she often destroys this or has jumped out of windows.
So taking her out with us is the safest option and more often than not we have to risk assess if it would be to hot in the car for her. Park in the shade ect

We do still sit in the garden with her but its so nice that theres bins . Water and dog beds for them .

Jane and her team had only been at The Runner for a few weeks at the start of lock-down and she contacted SNDogs a local dog rescue as she wanted to help raise funds for them by running an on-line Dog Show. Jane asked for sponsorship from local companies to pay for the rosettes and it took up a lot of her time organising it. The Runner raised £600 for us which was a massive help to SNDogs at this time. It was so kind of Jane to help us out at this time.

This pub is a super friendly dog pub and has great team that will go above and beyond assist guests and there requires. The pub has a beautiful river running though the garden dose a delicious home cooked food ?

The runner Swindon is the best dog friendly pub I have been to in Swindon. Our border collie was so relaxed he had his own water bowl and bed and best of all lots of fuss massive reccomendation and food is amazing too

What I love most about this pub is the fuss they make of their doggy visitors.
Jayne especially treats our furry friends just as well as her two legged customers, and Woofer of the week updates are fantastic.
Food, drinks and service are fantastic too.

Jayne, Miles and the team go the extra mile for every one of us, but canine guests are throughly spoilt. It is a good job they don’t have hotel rooms too, otherwise our dog would leave home and move in I swear !

I visited there with a friend and his dog, very welcoming lots of dog drinking bowls and lots of shaded areas to sit, all the staff spoke to ziggy and petted her she loved it! Staff are also people friendly too lovely atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble!
