All the team make our pooches feel super welcome! They have lots of blankets and fresh water out all the time. The staff always come over for cuddles too!

Very friendly staff and they absolute love dogs.
They deserve this award because they really care about the dogs arriving at the pub and make sure they get their special dog meal which I could eat as it is all made from fresh ingredients.

The Golden Ball of Longton are 2 times winners of the Visit Lancashire dog friendly business award, have a dedicated team of dog lovers and offer fresh dog meals inc a choice of chicken, beef or sausages served with veg and gravy. They also run a free dog walk every 3rd sunday of the month and have a dog club as well as working alongside Meera Puppins to run puppy events throughout the year

Because it is super pet friendly including food and drinks. The owner know everyone and their dog and activities such as the monthly walk promote health and well-being and allow us to meet other dog owners while appreciating the local countryside!! What more could you ask for!!

An incredibly dog-friendly pub where four legged friends are welcomed with open arms. Nothing is too much trouble, from ordering the dogs their own freshly cooked roast dinners, to plenty of space for anxious or nervous pooches to settle and socialise at their own pace. An absolute gem in the heart of Longton. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

The Golden Ball of Longton has won the Lancashire Tourism Award for 2 consecutive years. It’s outstanding for pups and pawrents, both are so very well catered for. Friendly staff who obviously love dogs and happily give all dogs the attention they deserve with treats if the pawrents allow.

Our 4 month old puppy was made to feel so welcome, which put us at ease when dining with him. He was given his own bowl of water, a roast chicken dinner, which he loved, and our family meal was the best meal out we’ve had , due to the quality of the food, the relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff, look forward to a meal there again soon

Not only is it a warm, friendly environment for a family meal or a few evening cocktails, it organises the much loved monthly dog walk. Great way of meeting new people/dogs, discovering new walks and is a really welcome and positive environment. We often combine the dog walk/craft between the family and come together for a catch up and meal in the afternoon.

We always take our dog with us when we go out. They always make us feel welcome with our dog and our dog always has a roast dinner for free when we eat. They are very dog friendly have a dog wash and I think they deserve to win this award.

We always bring our dog to the golden ball. We can sit anywhere and always made feel welcome. It's a posh little country pub that you can bring your pooch too. They always make a fuss of the dogs and give them treats too.

Best dog friendly pub we've been to.
Purpose built dog washing station so you can go straight from a muddy walk, beds and blankets available, dog treats at the bar and doggy dinners available with fresh, top quality ingredients.
They also organise Sunday dog walks to get the dogs and customers out together

So 🐕 friendly even before you enter with 🐕 wash if needed. There are 🐕treats, 🐕 menu and then there's the 'ooman menu too 😊, hot and cold drinks, open 🔥....... All round a great place to visit.

It's all about dogs at the golden ball they are so well looked after - they organise free monthly dog walks have dog beds, water down stations for cooling off or post muddy walks, dog beds and treats and even a dog menu where they can have a full dinner with chicken, beef or fish with veg - they even have a dog club on facebook where we can all chat, share photos and connect with other local dog lovers. they are amazing!

This has to be the most dog friendly pub, all the staff always make a fuss of Stella when we take her in with us. We are a member of their Dog walking club that meet every moth for a long social walk through the local countryside. This is fun not just for the dogs but also the owners and people ne w to the area. Our dogs get a free home cooked meal when we eat at the pub and stella has a choice of either Beef brisket, chicken or fish with fresh veg and gravy. She loves that she is offered a dog bed to get cosy on, her preferred place to be led is in front of the pubs fire in winter.
They have treats for the dogs and staff always ask permission if they can give them out, there is always fresh water available even when the pub is closed.
We have made so many friends for both us and Stella at the Golden Ball and we feel that this pub would be a more than deserved winner at this years dog friendly awards.

The Golden Ball have treats, a dog menu, dog beds, wash stations & host a free dog walk each month and we are 2019 winners for the “Dog Friendly Business Award” with the Lancashire Tourism Awards. They aren't just dog friendly, they treat your dogs like one of the family.
