The Chequers always welcomes dogs of all shapes and sizes, inside or outside. There's always a water bowl ready for thirsty hounds and some dog treats behind the bar. There's also dog ice cream!

Great pub to take the dogs to, they always make such a fuss of them with a fresh bowl of water and a bonio, you can also buy them an Ice cream and let them cool down in the doggy pool in the summer.

We regularly take a trip to The Chequers with our dog, Pippa, and she is obsessed! She constantly pulls us towards the pub on our walks, and it probably has something to do with the fact she gets many cuddles and treats from the staff and landlord when we visit 😁.

Our dog Bruce loves going to visit The Chequers in Swinford. The pub dog (Emmy) is very welcoming to all her paw-friends....& Brian the landlord is too. Think dog swimming pool in the summer, fresh water bowls, treats, ice cream and a beer garden to enjoy (though he draws the line at letting Bruce on the bouncy castle!).

We absolutely love The Chequers in Swinford. It’s one of those rare pubs that truly welcomes dogs, not just tolerates them. There’s a brilliant dog-friendly garden, water bowls always ready, and even doggy bandanas with the Chequers logo, such a lovely touch. The landlord genuinely cares about our four-legged friends too, even sending updates on the pub’s WhatsApp group during hot weather reminding us not to walk the dogs in the heat. It’s that kind of thoughtfulness that makes this place special. Plus, the resident pub dog is an absolute sweetheart. Couldn’t recommend it more highly, the perfect spot for both humans and hounds alike.

This is a community pub where everyone is welcome. Whether you have 2 legs or 4. When we take our 2 standard poodles they are fussed over and given treats. Great place!

The Chequers, Swinford has always been a great pub but made even better that its dog friendly. Being able to enjoy time with friends and family without the furry family members missing out makes it more enjoyable.

because the staff are 100/10 so lovely and the landlord 10000/10 and the customers around me lovely. take my dog in all the time and the staff members ALWAY provides a treat as well as love for my puppy
