The perfect place for a dog friendly holiday.

Recently stayed at Brambles Barn on my journey to Wales with my two small dogs, we couldn't have been made more welcome. The cottage was extremely well equipped and comfortable, I didn't need to ask for a thing. The location is ideal, the views stunning - especially from the mezzanine lounge. The owners couldn't do enough to please, allowing the dogs the surrounding fields to play in, off lead, and providing delicious baked goods. Highly recommended, would definitely stay again.

This was our second stay at Thatch Close Cottages - this time we stayed at the Brambles - this is a great location for walking and seeing the sights at Ross on Wye and Symonds Yat for example. Edward and Marion can't do enough for you - even bringing a welcome basked not only for us but also for the dogs - anything you need all you need to do is ask. Edward even give us a lift to the pub one evening. The views from the cottages are fantastic and even though you have to go through narrow lanes to find it - it's not too difficult to negotiate your way around and back to the main roads. There are pubs within walking distance also and the Royal Arms do lovely food too and dog friendly also. Wi-Fi at the Brambles was great there were a few of us using it and we had no issues with that. If you fancy something a little quieter and rural as a base to relax and enjoy some walks, I would recommend Thatch close cottages.

Very relaxing stay at Valley View, most dog friendly place I’ve ever been to yet still very clean and nicely furnished. We’re not disabled but we’re very impressed with the disabled facilities - rise and fall sink, hob, dressing table etc. Extra wide doors for wheelchairs made out of solid oak as were window sills and frames. Dog bowls and treats provided together with throws if the dogs wanted to sit on the sofa - though I couldn’t allow my scruffy mutts on that smart leather sofa! Valley View is well-named, absolutely lovely views. Nice welcome from the owners who were very approachable and helpful. The cream tea waiting for us was delicious as was the home-baked bread. Nice area, milk vending machine in the village also selling cakes, butter etc. Very large garden, most of which is grass with different types of trees here and there. The owner had mowed paths to make it easier for human and small doggie walking. My retriever and lab really enjoyed themselves romping through the grass. Can’t think of anything negative to say. Sally, Brian, Poppy and Bryn.

We booked Cider Cottage due to location and the fact it is dog friendly. So glad we did! The place is a joy. Really beautifully refurbished, warm and cosy. The kitchen is well appointed with all you need (microwave, oven, dishwasher etc). For those amongst us who raw feed their dogs there is even a four drawer freezer so you can store your supplies if staying longer than 4 days. There is a downstairs loo as well which is really convenient. The outside space is great with a small private yard out back but approx 12 acres of land available for the dogs to be exercised or taken for early morning/late night needs. In addition there is a public right of way which walks you across fields and in the general direction of the pub (albeit we didn't make it) and local village There is a communal BBQ and the hosts are building a pizza oven too. Nothing was too much trouble - and the hosts were very friendly and provided a lovely welcome basket of bread, cakes and breakfast items. The property is @ 15 mins from Monmouth, Ross-on-Wye and Ledbury to name a few places we visited with the Malverns about 40 mins away. There are three properties adjoining so if going with more than one family there is room to accommodate.

I can’t recommend Thatch Close cottages highly enough. Edward and Marian are wonderful hosts, we couldn’t fault the cottage we stayed in , and the views of the surrounding countryside are amazing. Edward even looked after our Labrador one day with the help of Nicky the cleaner. No mean feat looking after Brody for the day, as he is borderline crazy. We’ll definitely get back later this year.

Had a wonderful stay in Cider Cottage, Edward and Marion the owners were very helpful, suggesting restaurants and even trying to contact them on our behalf. The cottage is properly dog friendly. We were all made to feel very welcome with dog bowls, beds and towels available on arrival. Our dog loved exploring the surrounding fields, and there were beautiful views Over the fields from the front of the cottage. Very well positioned for a relaxing break away, we felt completely away from it all but only a short drive to a range of walks, and local attractions.

What a fantastic place to stay ideally located in an idyllic rural setting with views across the valley to die for. Our super sized lab had full access to everywhere in the 5 acres of garden and loved every minute of his stay. The accommodation was modern and very comfortable, we wanted for nothing, and will be returning again very soon.

Although the cottage was quite remote it was perfect for what we expected and needed that week. The cottage we stayed in was perfect for my partners restricted mobility requirements. The cottage was extremley well equipped in all aspects, the kitchen clean and compact with a well recieved "Welcome Basket" which I thought was a really nice personal touch. There was a downstairs WC that made life easier for my partner and a wetroom off the main bedroom. There was a small enclosed patio area at the rear which was ideal for the dogs in the evening. The dogs had access to all the gardens and fields around the cottage....they had a ball!!! The owners of the cottage were wonderful, madking sure that we had everything we needed without being too much. Whilst there I was given the opportunity to look at the other cottages and would have no hesitation in recommending any of them as a perfect get away! I will definitely be visiting Thatch Close again.

Just spent a week at Valley View with wife and 2 dogs to avoid the fireworks - one reactive Collie and a new rescue - the cottage is lovely and very dog and disabled friendly. The dogs had a whale of a time playing in the fields……

The owners Ed and Marion cannot do enough to help. - Highly recommended.
