Our dog Harvey has been to visit numerous times and even knows when we are on the way to Rough Top! Such friendly people and great options for walking and free running in the garden and paddock areas. Harvey even gets a welcome pack of his own 🐕🦺

We've stayed at this cottage 5 times and we always have such a fabulous time with our two spaniels. We have stayed in some 'dog tolerant' places, but Sandra and Brian go to such great lengths to make sure the dogs are treated with the same importance as the owners so they have the best holiday too. It's the little extras - the welcome gifts, enclosed paddock, blankets so they can sit on the sofa, etc - and the general hospitality provided during each stay. They really deserve to win.

The level of detail in the welcome is unprecedented compared to anywhere else we have stayed. Our mutt knows he is welcome from the moment of arrival and settles down as if he has always lived there! Rough “Top” cottage it really is!

A truely fabulous cottage where dogs are so well catered for. A lovely welcome pack, an enclosed garden plus the use of a large paddock for letting off steam is a real bonus.

Absolutely amazing place to stay with your dogs. Their every need is catered for. A superb exercise paddock is provided which is safe, clean and perfect for a run and a play. Garden is also safe and secure. They even provide a doggie welcome pack!

Rough Top Cottage, Yorkshire was a truly friendly, high class, clean and comfortable cottage with everything you could want for a holiday including a wonderful welcome pack and also a "doggy" box. Our dog loved the space and the paddock for daily exercise.

Excellent dog friendly accommodation and grounds. Amazing walks to keep us all very happy. Beautiful part of the country, quiet and peaceful to chill out completely. Great welcome pack for dogs and their humans. Hosts are exceptional and really pay attention to detail. By far the best place we have ever stayed, and will continue to book our holidays at Rough Top Cottage, rather than going abroad or elsewhere in UK.

We had a super short stay there recently, the cottage is lovely & spacious, dog friendly throughout with an enclosed garden and a paddock that can be used for exercise or play with the dogs. The owner was very welcoming and helpful, they also provided welcome goodies such as wine, biscuits and milk but also left us doggy cupcakes for one of our dog's birthday!

Sandra was super helpful prior to our arrival, as well as offered a lovely, warm welcome when we arrived.
Rough Top Cottage itself was wonderful - super clean and they had thought of everything. There were doggy treats and a box of doggy things we may have forgotten, as well as treats for us too! Would happily return - we all loved it! Especially Benji with a large paddock to run around in! 💙👍🐕🦺 The gorgeous views from the property topped it off nicely!

Brilliant house for dogs ! Sandra and Brian were very welcoming (humans and dogs alike) and the facilities are second to none. The new paddock alongside the house is perfect for dogs (safe, enclosed, well maintained) and there is everything you would want inside the house too. Amazing walks right from the house along footpaths and bridleways, plus fantastic dog-friendly walks only a short drive away too. We have been several times and will be back again soon !

Benn there twice. Our dog never wants to leave - nor do we - the excitement in his face as we turn onto the road by the cottage is amazing - Harvey knows a good place when he sees one. Almost doggie heaven (without the rainbow bridge!).

Have stayed here a few times, it’s my home from home. Love the ambience of the cottage, the scenery is stunning with lots of amazing dog walks. Sandra & Brian are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. But most of all, my dog Rossi loves it!

Brilliantly dog friendly cottage with doggie treats & enclosed doggie exercise field to run about it. Spotlessly clean with everything you need to have a wonderfully relaxing stay in lovely surroundings. Loads of space for our wolfhound & made to feel very welcome by Sandra the owner. Beautiful, well-equipped cottage with the most amazing views, especially early morning and evening time. So much to see and do, the only place we feel refreshed and relaxed after a week or two. Just wish we could stay longer. Our Jack Russell just loves his holidays at Rough Top. Great walks for him - and loves to try and visit the horses! Brian & Sandra are so helpful and friendly, and just wonderful hosts. Cannot wait to come back again!
