We visit Riverdale Lodges every year now and, as well as the lovely setting, it's the most dog-friendly self-catering accommodation we know. The hosts, Ingrid and Han always go the extra mile to make everything perfect for humans and dogs alike. Lots of lovely walks and a dog friendly pub just around the corner.

Gorgeous lodges in awesome location, beautifully equipped, and lovely & clean with luxury bedding and towels. It was the most well equipped self catering accommodation weāve ever stayed in - even fresh flowers on arrival. Secure decking areas for each lodge was fantastic! For the pooch ā¦ we just needed to arrive with the dog, his food & lead!
Everything else you could need for dog (s) was supplied - personalised treats, food & water bowls, endless towels, throws, bed, crate, dog gate, poo bags, brushes, torches for late night comfort breaks. Definitely 5 star plus!

Riverdale provides everything you need for your dog, beds, bowls, blankets, towels etc (but you're welcome to bring your own), they have a dedicated shower room for them and there is a jar of personalised treats waiting for them in your accommodation. The shepherd's huts even have their own enclosed gardens - perfect. Best dog friendly accommodation we have found .

Excellent comfortable and dare I say it luxury accommodation for humans. Dogs however are the priority and every possible situation is being catered for, from dog beds in all shapes and sizes (even orthopaedic) to warm water dog shower and drying room after a wet and muddy walk. Securely fenced in areas are also available for a good run, even for reactive dogs. Great pub within easy walking distance, which is also very dog friendly.

The accommodation (safari tents, lodges and shepherds huts ) is 5* plus, for humans. Pure luxury. The location is amazing, rural, stunningly beautiful and soā¦.relaxing!
Dogs are truly welcome, even down to a personalised jar of treats, plus bed, crate if needed, bowls, towels and hairbrush.
The patio / garden area of the units has been dog proofed. Last year, my Houdini rescue dog escaped within minutes of arrival. Within half an hour , the manager had installed chicken wire to prevent further incident!
Now back for the second time within 9 months. No escapes this time!
I cannot endorse this venue enoughā¦ā¦.reluctantly because I donāt want it to be booked up next time we want to come!!

We went to Riverdale in July 2021 - the first time I took my working cocker on a holiday. Sheās quite a nervous monkey in new places (though super friendly) and being allowed on the furniture at home, I didnāt want to spend my whole break worrying about her jumping on the sofas - I wanted her to feel as relaxed as possible and that needs me to stay relaxed too. So many places claim to be dog friendly but donāt allow dogs on the furniture. Riverdale even provided throws for sofas (so I didnāt need to bring my own) dog beds, crates, food bowls, towels specifically for the dogs, toys and arrival treats. The only place they arenāt allowed is the beds but with the aid of a baby gate - also provided by Riverdale - that was easily manageable. Although a bit nervous on arrival, Cocoa had a great time exploring the fields, woodland and the river surrounding the site. We did bring a mud daddy but neednāt have, since thereās a great dog wash facility near reception. Super friendly management, lots of facilities, fully equipped kitchen, loads of walking guides, brilliant WiFi (good enough to stream Netflix) and I even saw Tesco deliver to one of the lodges! Would definitely go back - trying to find places with equal dog friendliness, particularly the sofa allowance, is proving quite difficult!!

Lovely setting next to fields and a beautiful river. Well furnished and equipped, comfortable accommodation. Itās the little things like a coffee machine, selection of pillows, fresh flowers that make it a home from home. Lovely dog friendly touches (treats, beds, dog shower). Friendly hosts. Couldnāt ask for more.

Perfect destination! Stayed in one of the new safari tents and blown away by the luxury, glamping taken to the next level and definitely worthy of 5 stars. Our 2 dogs were in heaven with a generous and secure garden to themselves, which worked brilliantly for the kids too! Dog beds available free of charge meant heaps more room in the car, and they loved the treats on arrival. For us as a family the kids adored the bunk room, and the big TV so they could snuggle in front of the fire in the evenings. Everything was so clean, cosy and we left plotting dates in the diary for a return in 2021. Han and Ingrid were so helpful and welcome - they definitely deserve the top spot :)

They are a dogs dream! Large decking area for vital squirrel patrol, situated it the heart of amazing walks - plenty oh space to chase sticks and investigate, followed by cosy snoozes in front of the fire. The pawrents loved how clean and tidy the lodges were - and the nearby dog friendly pub on the doorstep!

Really couldn't have asked for more ....doggie treats, crate,dog bed and towels supplied. Our pup was small enough to fit through the fencing around our safari tent so chicken wire was erected immediately to rectify the problem. Everyone had dogs on the site so little Ruby made lots of friends, as did we! Perfect location for "off lead' walks and a dog friendly pub at the end for refreshments. Would highly recommend

Ingrid and Han are real dog lovers and this shows in the way the lodges are set up. Upon arrival we were greeted by a spotless and roomy lodge with a kilner style jar crammed with healthy dog treats with a big heart shaped, hand produced name tag bearing our dogs name attached. There was also a lovely chalked out welcome note wishing us all(dog included) a merry Christmas and stylish Christmas decorations placed out of harms way. There is a choice of dog beds on offer depending on what your dog likes to sleep on, these aren't taking up unwanted space as you choose the one you want, and if you change your mind Ingrid will provide an alternative(lots of choice). Food/water bowls are provided, there are also dog toys and if I remember correctly, leads are provided too. The decking on the lodges are fully enclosed with gates to prevent furry ones investigating other people's lodges and dinner lol. There is a heated dog washing/drying room that also has industrial style driers in it for towels/dog coats etc so you can clean up after going on adventures. From the lodges there are several public walks immediately from the grounds, these take you along the River Ure which is a stony Trout river with good shallows for the dogs to play in. If you take the walk in the opposite direction you have fields and woodland to walk in as well as the riverside. Locally there are dog friendly pubs and many great walks in the Yorkshire dales available that start from public car parks and take you to some beautiful places such as Hackfall(there's a hand pump water spout that fires high into the air as well as old ruins to walk around) and Mowbray castle. There is also Brimham rocks national trust site, Studley park and Fountains Abbey a short drive away too. Our dog had a great time staying at Riverdale lodges, as did we - the facilities and convenient set up there made holidaying with our dog so much more pleasant and hassle free than at other places we have stayed at. As for the human side of things, simply put the lodges are elegant, roomy and comfortable, they are well finished and have good quality appliances, a Nespresso machine and some capsules are also provided along with a welcome hamper of some good quality locally sourced basics. The owners, Ingrid and Han are a lovely genuine couple, they made us and our dog feel so welcome...when we left they gave us a leaving present which was a hard back book about the local area and the attractions, this was such a nice touch. We highly recommend Riverdale Lodges and will definitely return.

This is without doubt the best holiday accommodation we've stayed in with our kids and 2 dogs. Every little detail is thought about, and we were all made to feel so special and welcome. The dogs were definitely not an after thought - they even had their own jars of dog treats with their names on when we arrived (the kids were a bit envious until they found the choc chip cookies for them!). I don't usually bother to vote in things like this, but having seen Han & Ingrid's post on Facebook, I wanted to spread the word about what a wonderful treasure of a place Riverdale is for everyone... human and canine! 5*plus!

Dogs are not just accepted, they are welcomed and catered for so thoughtfully, from treats to toys, to large comfy beds. And that's just inside; outside your dogs will be more than satisfied with the open fields and river walks. Beautiful, comfortable property, situated in peaceful, calm surroundings with good local hospitality. Truly dog friendly site. Not at all the typical 'sub standard' lodge accommodation for dog owners! Immaculately clean and furnished to a very high standard. The added extras to make you and your dog/s feel very welcome. Hosts are amazing and could not be more accommodating and helpful. Lovely walks and relaxing beautiful riverside views.

We have stayed at Riverdale Lodges several times already! Ingrid always made sure she knew how many dogs are coming therefore prepares the lodge with enough beds, bowls and yummy treats for them! There is also a dog washing station there to wash the dogs after going on many lovely walks around the lodge!

Having visited the lodges several times with our two Yorkshire Terriers, I cannot recommend highly enough just how accommodating they are, absolutely brilliant, everything you could wish for, a definite five star experience. The managers Ingrid & Han go to extreme measures to give not only human guests but also canine guests an absolutely wonderful holiday experience, this place in my eyes is a supremely 100% worthwhile visit, and my greatest wish would be another visit to our heaven on earth holiday venue. 5***** all the way!

We have stayed a number of times and they treat our dogs like a priority. Nothing is too much trouble. Beds, dishes, toys, blankets, treats, poo bags etc. are all supplied free of charge. Indoor warm dog shower on site with free shampoo and towels. So many things have been thought of. Itās doggy heaven. We love it.

Riverdale Lodges is my dog's favourite holiday because they get treated like a guest themselves. They have freedom of the park, everything provided for their needs and a personal warm welcome from the owners. The lodges were designed with dogs in mind with a raised terrace where they can run in and out freely to enjoy the outdoors.

Most dog friendly place I have stayed. Every thing provided that you can imagine. Next to no restrictions on what and where your dogs can go, only bedrooms. More than willing to care for your dogs if you wish to do a trip that restricts dogs. I would recommend to any dog owner.
