We have just returned from another fabulous stay at Oaktree Cottages. This time we stayed in The Forge. Our first impression when we opened the door was how clean and fresh the cottage was. Lauren and her Mum really do make sure that everything is spotless and you would never know the accommodation is totally dog friendly. The attention to detail and finishing touches are first class, from the well stocked kitchen area that has everything you need to the amazing welcome hamper on arrival. The Forge is decorated in a modern style yet is comfy and homely. Little touches like roller blind pelmet boards shows they consider how everything looks.
Now to the welcome packs...both human and doggy! Amazing selection of local produce. Everything you need (including a bottle of wine) to enjoy your first night and morning without having to rush out to the shops. Our fur babies loved the Norfolk handmade cheese bones and jar of biscuit treats! There's also an ID tag for each dog, which is a great idea, and an enclosed field with a lovely seating area and hot doggy shower to rinse off muddy paws.
You can really tell Lauren and her family have put a lot of thought, love and care in to making your stay in one of their beautiful cottages totally stress free and relaxing.

Christmas won't be the same again! I made the decision to book The Forge and get away for Christmas in 2023, just me and my dog and it was the best decision ever. First impressions far exceeded what I was expecting. My dog settled in very quickly and enjoyed the very large welcome package (as did I, enjoyed my welcome package). Extremely clean and comfortable and the Christmas tree made it even cosier. I needed some help with the log burner and the hosts couldn't have been more helpful, coming over to give me a lesson! A lovely enclosed garden as well as an enclosed field to allow the dogs to exercise/play. When they say dog friendly, they mean 100% dog friendly and not just dogs are allowed. You can sense the owners passion for dogs (and guests!).
The location was amazing, so close to some incredible dog friendly beaches. Not an area I have explored before but will definitely be returning.
I have been recommending Oat Tree Cottages to everyone and know that two friends have booked stays in March and Sept so I'd best look at availability before the year is booked up!

Stayed at the Forge in June this year. Has set the benchmark for all other accommodation! Spotless, everything you needed for humans & your furry friend provided. Excellent welcome packs for both. Extensive & clear information provided for walks, visits & eating out in the local area.
Large, safe exercise area that was well fenced in.
Located approximately ½ hour’s drive north of Norwich. We found good dog walking & free parking at Mousehold Heath. Norwich Cathedral allows dogs in all areas.
Recommended to other & we will return to the Forge again.

Oak Tree Cottages are so clean you would never know they are dog friendly. They cater for everything you could possibly want while away and go above and beyond to make sure your fur babies are safe and happy . They also do an app for your phone to tell you all about their accommodation, local area and other interesting imformation you might need when you are away ( emergency local vet number and dog sitters ) Next year will be our 4th visit back 😉 can't wait 😀

Because its the best place ever for our dogs Oak tree cottage really cares about the dogs with all the hand made treats to toys ,leads and collars with tag on with their address just incase the dogs get lost. There is a warm outdoor shower for them after the dogs have had fun in the fence off paddock etc. We have been there 4 times we have tried other places but nothing beats Oak tree cottage my dogs love going there ❤️

We have stayed in so many holiday cottage, travelling all over the UK since we have had our dogs, and Oak Tree Cottages are simply THE BEST. Our favourite is Lighthouse Cottage and we stay at least once or twice a year (in between our other holidays). Have to get booked up early these days though as word has got around how good they are.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at Oak Tree Cottages staying in The Forge. It was beautiful, luxury accommodation. Everything was top quality and it was spotlessly clean. There was everything you could possibly need including a lovely welcome pack and extras in the fridge. Then there was the doggy stuff…my goodness, we have never stayed in such dog friendly accommodation! There was absolutely everything you could possibly need - bed, bowls, treats, toys, water bottle, tags, lead, throws, towels, poo bags, even pet perfume and paw balm! It was fab and the dogs absolutely loved it! They were allowed on the furniture and not only were they allowed upstairs, they were even allowed to sleep on the bed! And yet you wouldn’t know dogs had been staying in the property - it was spotless. Then the best part which sets it apart from other holiday accommodation is the huge immaculately kept and secure doggy playing field literally footsteps from your front door. It is absolutely fantastic with a really lovely sheltered seating area with lighting. There’s also a heated doggy shower, toys, poo bags etc. Again, everything has been thought of.
A lot of holiday accommodation SAY they are dog friendly but Oak Tree Cottages are TRULY dog friendly! We and our doggies absolutely loved it and cannot wait to return.

From the time you book to the time you leave (and you don’t want to!), the family at Oak Tree Cottages make your holiday unforgettable. The attention to detail from the welcome breakfast items to the dog gifts, treats and toys, and bedding - it’s so thoughtful. The cottages are immaculate, smell divine and are so relaxing. We occupied three cottages and it was lovely to be able to be so close to our families. They also have an amazing secure field, supplied with toys, dog shower and a summer house. The driveway is gated adding to the security so peace of mind for us with little ones and dogs! It’s just set up to be a wonderful space that you can relax and enjoy, and be on the door step to Norfolk’s beaches and things to do. Please go and try it out yourselves, you won’t be disappointed!

Oak Tree cottages are very friendly and they cater so well for our fur babies with special hampers for the dogs along with toys , dog leads with tags on saying that they are staying at oak tree cottage with a phone number. There is loads of space for the dogs to run safely. We have been 4 times because our dogs love it there and going again next August. The dogs settle in so quickly.

Excellent facilities with everything provided including a specific warm water doggie shower in the secure field to wash off sand / mud. Beautifully appointed accommodation with a super goody bag on arrival. Stayed in 3 of the 4 available spaces, too many dogs for the 4th one. Nothing is too much trouble - were even happy to accommodate our parrot (provided a seed stick for him in the goody bag) on the understanding that they could visit and meet him 😃👍🏻

The cottages are just amazing. Luxurious for human and so very dog friendly. All equipped with things that you didn’t even know you might need. Outdoor space with each cottage is lovely and the opportunity to socialise and chat with occupants of other cottages if you choose. With small area for dogs as well as large fenced field. Hot water shower for dogs too. Plenty of parking and all secure. We have stayed twice now with another stay coming up this year and so far one booked for next year. The owners are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We highly recommend.

These holiday cottages are owned and run by a lush family who just cannot do enough to make your stay divine. Everywhere is always spotlessly clean and you can just feel the care and thought that has been put into all the little details. Our dog’s welcome hamper was incredible and the enclosed field with a beautiful shelter was the icing on the cake. Oak Tree Cottages are the best ever cottages you could stay at. They have 4 cottages and over our (I believe) 7 times we have stayed there we have holidayed in 3 of them. The cottages have everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Our dog has been every time with us and it's now a second home for him. You should have seen his tail wagging when we arrived. It's a home for him he just relaxes .
We have already booked forJuly 2024 and if we can manage a few days before the end of the year we will be there.

We have styed three times at Oak Tree Cottages. Once in Oak Tree Cottage and twice in The Forge. If you are a dog owner, this place is super ideal. Lots of dog friendly features and the AMAZING enclosed dog field on site. On top of this, the accommodation itself is very high end and Lauren and the team there show an exceptional attention to detail. This area of Norfolk is top notch for dogs too. We cannot recommend these cottages highly enough and would thoroughly recommend.

Just got back from a lovely week staying in Churchfields Cottage. The cottage is the perfect ‘home from home’, so well equipped & very comfortable. The extra goodies, on arrival, were very much appreciated by us all!
Barney loved the enclosed field & the beach is just 5 minutes away by car.

Oak Tree Cottages are truly dog friendly - dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the beds and throws are provided. They also have everything you need for your dogs - treats, bowls, dog bed, poo bags, toys etc. The enclosed field is brilliant and even has a shelter to sit in and a warm shower for the dogs as well as more toys. The Forge has its own small enclosed garden and the other cottages have their own courtyards with a shared garden area for the dogs.
The cottages are very luxurious and comfortable and everything has been thought of. They are situated not far from the beach which the dogs absolutely love. I can’t recommend Oak Tree Cottages enough if you are looking to stay with your dogs in this part of Norfolk.

Us and our 2 dogs have just returned from a fantastic week away in The Forge, the smallest cottage, and absolutely perfect to 2 adults and 2 dogs.
We first visited the property last year and immediately booked again for this year.
There is so much to say, the accommodation is of a superior standard, the human welcome pack is more than generous and the dogs welcome pack is great.
Lauren and her family are so welcoming and make time to make sure you are settled.
Our dogs absolutely love the secure field and this was a top priority for us as well for their safety.
The property is situated very closely to beaches, woods and other villages. The local walks pack in the property is more than useful.
So don't hesitate about booking your visit, you will not regret it, and we will certainly be booking for a 3rd time

We stayed in the Forge for 2 people with Chester my 13 year old Border Terrier in June 22.
It was a dogtastically great place!
Chester settled immediately with his doggy welcome pack and the enclosed field with water and toys.
He had his own enclosed garden.
Absolutely beautiful décor and I was thrilled with bath robe and human welcome pack.
We all loved it but we did not stay long enough and needed another week, note to self.

We stayed at Oak Cottage in May with our whippet Daisy. Everything you see on their website is just as it is in reality. The welcome pack is fabulous and is sent pre arrival with fantastic info on what is available; dog friendly walks, pubs, cafes and places to visit. Loads of treats and goodies for hoomans and doggies when you get there. The cottage was beautiful, well equipped with everything you can think of, a real home from home. It was fantastic to know our spoilt whippet could behave just as she does at home; lounging on the sofa and the bed with throws provided. The outside area at the cottage was secure and great for her to mooch around in but the biggest bonus for us sighthound owners who worry about letting them off leash, was the secure field she could run freely in next to the cottage and a warm outdoor shower for her return from the beach. Fabulous place and the owners have it all covered for 5* doggie hols. Will definitely be back and will recommend without hesitation.

Have stay here on several occasions over the last 4 years - in fact have never stayed anywhere else in Norfolk. Everything for both humans and canines is catered for. The welcome pack is just that, welcoming with lots of unexpected treats for all. Excellent facilities with even an outdoor warm shower to wash off dogs should they need it. Absolutely no qualms in recommending this venue as a place to stay.

This time, to accommodate all nine of us, we were lucky enough to be able to stay in Church Fields (sleeps six) as well as the lovely Lighthouse (sleeps four) where we stayed before. Both are superb, everyone loved staying there and our stay went so fast! Really dog friendly, yet luxurious for humans and very well-equipped. On top of all that, our welcome goodies were fantastic, and, as return guests, we were spoilt even more, woe betide anyone that tries stealing my Oak Tree Cottages bag! Lighthouse Cottage was just perfect for a late November mini break for my friend me & our 3 dogs. The quality of accommodation & attention to detail was excellent. We loved the doggie & human welcome packs.
The cottage has two fabulous ensuite bedrooms, a cosy well equipped lounge/kitchen/diner & direct access to a big patio & enclosed shared grassed area.
Better still the whole site is dog secure with two fields and even an outdoor shower.
East Ruston is an excellent location with plenty of walks, easy access to beaches, the Broads National Park & seaside towns.

The best dog friendly accommodation we have ever booked! Our dog was treated as just as much of a guest as we were, from the moment we got there he was spoilt with a tub of goodies including blankets, towels, treats, toys, food, shampoo and fur spray - even a collar and a special tag to let people know he was on his holidays on case he were to become lost. Every detail thought of! We were given lots of information about places to visit that were dog friendly, from beaches and parks to pubs and cafes. The dog paddock at the cottages was absolutely brilliant and so well thought out. Every day before we left to go anywhere, our dog would whine until we let him run into the paddock for a quick burst of playtime and we would do the same thing whenever we returned to the cottage. Not only have Oak Tree Cottages considered the space and comfort of any dogs who stay, they have thought about safety too. We will absolutely return (and were due to until Covid sadly meant cancelling our second booking!) They are a great family team and we really had the best time.

Oak Tree Cottages is the most luxurious holiday a dog could ever have. The home comforts provided for them is absolutely fantastic and their safety is of paramount importance. The fenced in field is enormous for them to run about and if they get muddy there is a warm shower to rinse off with. We have tried a few doggy holidays but none of them have the 5star accommodation for our fur babies and for us, the dogs are well looked after from their own welcome hamper and beds loads of toys, there is a fantastic paddock all fenced in and as a doggy shower plus more toys for them to play with. The cottage it self is well equipped clean and very tidy you weren't think that dogs stay there. We haven't been any where else since we found Oak Cottage and all the family go there now.

Their attention to detail for dogs and humans is amazing - they leave you and the dogs welcome goodies, they provide dog towels, throws for the furniture, crates and bowls if required and then as well as you secure private garden a secure dog field loaded with toys and a HOT dog shower - pawfect for when you come back to your luxury holiday homes with a muddy or Sandy dog , they accommodate our 4 dogs and nothing is too much trouble - 4th return visit already booked !!

They are simply the best holiday cottages we have EVER stayed in . Humans are very well catered for with everything immaculately presented and the finer details thought through to make your holiday very special BUT the attention to detail with welcoming dogs is outstanding. From the welcome basket, bowls, towels, bed all provided as well as a hot outdoor shower to wash them off after a run in the huge doggy field where then can run and fetch to theiir hearts content. The beautiful nearby beaches are all dog friendly too so for us it is,the perfect holiday. Must be as we will soon visiting for the 3rd time in 16 months. Honestly love it so much there.

Amazing accommodation, perfect for dogs and people. Tags, toys, biscuits for the dogs a food basket for the people and an well equipped kitchen. We had an eventful week, we arrived at the beginning of a 55hour power cut, one of our dogs slashed his leg at the beach but the Oak Tree Cottages team were incredible, our dinners were cooked, basic power was quickly restored through a generator on site and contact details for vets were passed on. Get well biscuits were provided for the injured dog. The mark of good customer service is what happens when things go wrong, and we could not fault Oak Tree Cottages.

The Cottages are amazing - they are are not only ‘dog friendly’ they are dog welcoming and extra touches (such as ‘I’m on holiday’ dog tags, doggy shower) make so much difference. We stayed at “The Forge” in July 2021. This accommodation is absolutely outstanding!
The attention to detail is amazing. The welcome pack is like nothing we had seen before. Our dog Finlay was just as excited as we where to see his own welcome pack.
As a pet friendly holiday they don’t get any better than this!
It’s a good location as well. You can get to:- Sheringham (37min), West Runton (35min), East Runton (33min), Cromer (30min), Overstrand(29min), Trimingham (21min), Mundersley (14min), Bacton/Walcott (5min), Happisburgh (5min), Sea Palling (13min) , Caister (23min), Great Yarmouth (30 min).
If you don’t want to travel far Happisburgh is a fantastic beach and it’s got toilets.
Best beach overall I would say was Sea Palling, but Caister was nice.
Sheringham & Cromer are great places, but have dog restrictions on the beach, but you can find enough space for sure to make it worth the trip.
Great Yarmouth is the Blackpool of the east worth a visit and it does look like it is re-energizing itself with new buildings. Parking can be pricey £8.50 for 3hr or £7 A DAY.

We have just returned from Oak Tree Cottages ,cannot recommend these cottages enough ,have been to quite a few dog friendly cottages and these are far the best we have been to, Lauren and family have thought of everything for both dogs and humans ,spotlessly clean ,beds so comfy ,large fridge freezer , the warm shower near the dog field was ideal after their day out on lovely beaches and loads of walks nearby ,BBQ was excellant (not just a small cheap one ) a lovely large gas one even though the weather was not very good for first 2 days it was a pleasure to come back to cottage and settle down to a movie on comfy sofas and loads of dvds to choose from, including prime and netflix ,we recommend the Star Inn for Sunday lunch really yummy! we had an evening meal there also just as good ,the welcome packs in the cottage was amazing for both dogs and us ,the most important thing to us is that the dogs were secure , certainly are here ,little gate into a grassed area from your cottage and the large enclosed field for them to run and play with toys etc provided , i could go on and on praising these cottages ,if your thinking of booking dont hesitate you wont be disappointed ,we will be back in the future (a wks not long enough ) Thanks again

Spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated, Lauren and family have thought of everything you might need for a comfortable relaxing stay. Exceptional welcome pack for dogs and humans alike. Our older dog loved the underfloor heating for a snooze after a long beach walk and could relax on the sofa covered with a throw. The enclosed field is brilliant for quick first and last walkies of the day. The cottages are ideally located close to lots of lovely dog friendly beaches including Happisburgh, Sea Palling, Winterton on Sea and Mundesley, and the Broads. You and your four legged friend will not be disappointed if you holiday here!

Honestly the best holiday cottage we have stayed in , truly dog friendly , we have a nervous rescue dog and the forge made it so easy for us all to relax , having a fully enclosed garden was fab but being able to use a fully enclosed field too was brilliant and it had toys and an outdoor hot/cold shower for the dogs , everything for humans and dogs has been thought of honestly wouldn’t change a thing , the human and dog welcome packs are lovely and the fact sunny our dog could sit on the sofa with us and come up stairs was brilliant x

We had a fantastic stay, from start to finish we couldn't fault the cottage. The whole area is secure and the large field with toys and warm doggie shower was great for Woods play times, meaning we were able to chill and not have to get in the car to travel somewhere.
The personal touches from personalised newsletter to the dog welcome basket was lovely. The Oak Tree Cottage was spotlessly clean and warm, Woods settled quickly, It was a home away from home. The bed was very comfortable and decent sleeps were had by all. The outdoor area was brilliant for Woods to wander outside on the communal grass area and go the loo plus meet other dogs.
Location wise, we visited about 6 different beaches all dog friendly, saw the grey seals and found a beautiful woodland at Bacton Woods all within 20 mins drive or so. Lauren was helpful and friendly at the end of a text. Can't recommend this place enough.

Not only is the accommodation and facilities 5* deluxe, but in the recent storm when we were without power for 55 hours they sourced a generator to enable us to have heating, lighting and hot water and made us supper on their AGA. Going above and beyond for their human and doggy guests. They have also provided a large fenced in paddock for the dogs to have fun and a warm water doggy shower to rinse off the mud or sand from the day’s adventures. Best place ever!

These cottages are the best of the best, the most dog friendly place we’ve ever stayed at. Blankets are provided for if your dog goes onto the chairs or beds. Treats, dog tags, toys and a lead are for your dog to use while staying. The warm shower near the enclosed field where you can walk, everything is well thought of making it a perfect stay for dogs and their humans. Oak Tree Cottages are fantastic. The accommodation is 5*. It's a if they've thought of what they would like if they stayed somewhere and included it!
Lighthouse Cottage was really high spec with everything you could want.
The patio area with BBQ and plenty of seating added to the relaxing space.
The dog friendly aspect can't be beaten from the safe patio and shared grassed area to the dedicated dog field.
They've thought of everything.

We spent a week in the lovely oak tree cottages.
We have been to Norfolk and this area a few times and it is a great place if you have dogs. It was our first time at the cottages and we were pleasantly surprised.
Decorated and furnished to a high standard. Kitted out very well in the kitchen, cleaning products, hair dryers in each room! Beautiful bathroom!
Lovely doggie and human hampers, including an " I am on holiday tag".
Garden backs onto the other 3 cottages again well equipped, and also access into a joint escape proof grass area (brick walls over 6ft).
They are also in the process of completing a secure exercise field.

Fantastic place to stay, high quality, exceptionally clean and incredibly well equipped. Chris and Lauren have truly thought of everything when designing the cottages. I loved the welcome pack for both humans and dogs, that was an extra special touch on top of just a fabulous cottage. We stayed with 2 dogs and there was plenty of room. We loved the small communal exercise area, my pup loved meeting his neighbours! There are some fantastic beaches and woodlands near to the property, and most shops and pubs are dog friendly which made holidaying here very easy. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

OMG! (as the youngsters say) Oak tree cottage has it all, from the 5* welcome pack, furnishings and décor to location. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here earlier last month, great walks, coastline and minutes from the broads. I was amazed how rich in history this area is too - oldest humanoid footprints found in the world at happisburgh beach outside of Africa, being just one!

A truly lovely cottage. We spent a week here and just didn’t want to leave. It is a home from home but so much better. They have really thought of everything here from the mini toiletries to the excellent welcome pack for us and our dogs. We could not fault a thing. I cannot recommend these cottages highly enough! We have just spent the weekend in Church Fields Cottage and it was amazing! From the basket full of dog treats, toys, tags, bowls and throws, to the well equipped kitchen, there is nothing that has been overlooked! They are not only dog friendly but people friendly too and we will definitely be going back!!
