Both ourselves and our dog, Tillie, received a warm and friendly welcome, from Kate the owner of Maple Bank Guest House.
In our room there was a small goodie box for Tillie containing treats, bows for her collar, poop bags and a name and address tag, with the B&B’s details on, to be worn for the duration of our stay.
In the room, blankets were provided to cover the bed should Tillie decide to jump up and join us.
She was also allowed in the dining room at breakfast time, where she received her own breakfast sausage.
At the back of the house there was an enclosed, dog proof garden where Tillie could roam off lead in complete safety.
I don’t know who enjoyed our stay the most, us or Tillie. Can’t wait to return.

Kate (the owner) is the most wonderful host. Pooches and their hoomans are given a wonderful warm welcome. Pooches are given lots of cuddles and fuss as well as treats. What more could you ask for?

Kate cares for the dogs as well as she does for the "hoomans". She made us all feel so welcome!
At breakfast she gave an extra sausage, there are the treats from tara (her dog), lovely bedding and gorgeous secure garden for at the end of the day

It is a wonderful place to stay, extremely welcoming for dogs any sizes and their owner. You have an amazing time there, breathtaking landscape, fantastic garden. Perfect!

Fantastic guest house. Kate and her Mum always go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome. From the little treats for the four legged guests to the fabulous breakfasts. All set in a stunning location. A1+

Kate goes above and beyond to make sure that our dog was catered for. Towels at the door, fleecy dog robes so she could dry off warmly, dog treats in the room for her, oh, and the spare breakfast sausage that somehow found it’s way to my plate. Wish everyone was as considerate and kind.

This was the perfect stay for the dogs! From a welcome pack, to a breakfast sausage, to an enormous garden and even little dog dressing gowns for then they’re wet! We can’t wait to go back with the dogs

We stayed at Maple Bank with our Springer puppy, Pip. Kate couldn’t have been more accommodating, Pip loved her visit and we will definitely be back.

This is a wonderful place to bring yourselves and your dogs for a break. Kate thinks of every little detail for your four legged friends, and the little touches she welcomes the dogs with, are amazing. Can't recommend highly enough

Super dog friendly …my dog loves it there. Dog treats, dog blankets, sausages, garden to play in & cuddles from Kate the owner who talks doggy language! What’s not to like!

Such a great place to stay, with a lot of care and attention not only given to guests but to their pooches too. Tavish loved his sausage and the massive back garden available for a run and play. The place is spotless, trays are given for food snd water in the room, plenty of room for Tavish’s bed at the bottom of mine. He’s also been a very proud dog of the week too! Fab place for people and dogs alike. 5*

Maple Bank Guest House is simply the best b&b in Cumbria. We can vouch for this personally. Every single guest & furry friend are looked after incredibly well. Your dog/s get everything! To towels, doggy dressing gowns, a treat box filled with treats, pooh bags, a bow & a dog tag saying “we’re staying at maple bank” incase ur doggy decides to run off!
The level of detail Kate, the owner. Puts into her business is just unbelievable. We love kate, alongside Head Gardner Ann and of course the 2 resident dogs, Tara & Trevor.
These guys deserve everything!
