Absolutely excellent in every way. Host Ali has thought of everything and is so good to communicate with and really lovely. We had a wonderful Christmas away and can't wait to return. Possibly the most well equipped self catering accommodation we've ever stayed in both in the UK and abroad. Would 100% recommend.

They have thought of everything to make taking your dog on holiday welcome, from the warm outside shower to the enclosed garden & decking, the doggy treats and your pet being allowed on the furniture. It’s clear they are dog owners too and that your best friend is more than welcome.

The most colourful and quirky lodge we've stayed in. It's so bright and cheery and our doggo can finally sit on the sofa or snuggle in bed with us without us having to destroy all evidence straight after 🤣 it's great that he can go straight out to the grassed area too, something I always look for so I don't have to put his lead on in the middle of the night for a quick wee.
The view from the living room is gorgeous and no matter the weather we can sit for hours just watching the lake. Very relaxing times here and we'll be back again

This is the best place we have stayed it had everything we needed for my 5 doggies, mum and myself. After kicking of our shoes we were right at home, after 2 day we felt so relaxed as if we had been there for a month. We loved it so much we have booked up for next year.

Myself and 3 dogs stayed at the lodge ,it was accessible for my mobilty needs ,with great walk in shower .we were rained in for four days but the lodge felt like home from home .secure outside areas ,I could relax knowing my tinys could not escape. We loved it do much we stayed an extra day/ night ,and hired a secure field nearby for off lead fun . Would recommend and definitely rebook another stay

First doggy holiday for 4 years due to mobilty problems The lodge was very accessible for myself and three dogs .we were rained In for four days but the lodge was home from home .safe secure outside areas for my tinys,I was able to relax knowing they could not escape. Didn't want to leave to stayed for an extra day/ night .Hired a secure field close by on our dry day . Would recommend and would definitely return

The Lakeside retreat is situated on a beautiful lake,the views are breath taking, the most relaxing place I have ever stayed. When you have dogs most places that say they allow them , just do that , but the retreat is so geared up for dogs staying , it makes it their holiday too, which then makes it more relaxing for you, the owner has thought of everything you may possibly need , for yourselves and the dogs , she is always on hand should you have a queries or encounter a problem, nothing is too much trouble for her, she clearly wants you to have a great stay. There's everything u need from loo roll to kayaks, towels for both you and the dogs and her welcome pack thinks of all the guests staying , she clearly takes all the guests needs into account. If you haven't stayed ... you're missing out !!!

Amazingly dog friendly, from hot/cold dog shower point, safe enclosed wrap around garden.
Inside everything you need from a welcome dog hamper, spare leads, baskets, bowels etc etc etc.
No charges for visting dogs and no restrictions on numbers.
Always have a relaxing stay here knowing my dog is made so welcome

We stayed at the Lakeside Retreat with our two dogs for a week's holiday 9th - 16th June 2023. We knew from previous reviews and comments that the accommodation would be good, but we were absolutely delighted at just how good it actually was! The lodge was bigger than expected, meticulously clean, and well equipped with very close attention to detail. We immediately felt the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the place, so were able to settle in within minutes of arriving.
The uninterrupted views across the lake were a joy to wake up to .... so beautiful and peaceful. There was a large canopy to protect us from the full sun over the front of the veranda, and we were very grateful for the air conditioning inside. That alone was a thoughtful luxury rarely seen in any UK holiday home. We also enjoyed the top of the range hot tub overlooking the lake .... another very special treat!
There are many places that are dog friendly, but this one went far beyond anything we had experienced before! Not only did the owners provide a lovely welcome pack for us two-legged guests, the dogs had theirs too, along with treats, comfy beds, bowls, an enclosed garden to run around in, gates separating the different areas to keep them safe, and permission to climb on the furniture (protected with our own throws). They also had their own warm outside shower and even collars embroidered with details of where they were staying. The only thing we needed to bring was their food and leads!
I can honestly say that this was the best holiday I'd taken with my dog in 15 years! I recommend it to anyone at any time of year. We will most certainly be coming back!

Our trip away was amazing, we have 2 dogs and the accommodation was set up very well, the way the gates have been placed and the glass balcony means the dogs are secure but can see you through the glass even if you venture down onto the jetty. On arrival there was some lovely gifts left and also treats for our dogs. We will certainly be returning.

Just returned home yesterday from a week spent at this gorgeous lodge. Went with my 15 year old son and our Lab. Stunning, peaceful location and the friendly owners have thought of lots of little touches which make it different from your normal holiday let. My son was able to go out on his paddle board every day from the lodge’s own jetty and fed the ducks, geese and swans - he wants to move there!!

A relaxing stay in a 5☆ lodge were the people and dogs had equal luxury. Great views over the lake and lots of nice touches such as water fowl recognition book and binoculars and fabulous welcome pack for both pups and their hoomans..we hsve slready booked to go back next summer.

We have stayed at many places that state they are "dog friendly"
Tallington Lakes is truly dog friendly.
The outside space is totally secure. They is a warm water tap with attachments to wash down your pooches ( there is even dog shampoo)
Inside there is everything supplied for a four legged guest.
Towels, food bowls, treats, spare leads, even a crate if needed.
The owners just request you bring your own throws/bedding if your dog is used to a cuddle on the settee or sleeps next to you at night. This is a true gem. So many places don't allow this. This makes for a very relaxing stay knowing that you are not freting about furniture etc.
The site is also dog friendly with plenty of poo bins around the lake and the onsite pub/ restaurant are very happy to have dogs. Peggy was brought a bowl of water and a treat before I'd had time to look at the menu!
I have stayed once before and booked another stay before leaving.

We were actually a bit blown away on arrival. This is a stunning property, beautifully decorated with THE most incredible views across the lakes- and perfectly set up with well positioned gates to ensure our pup was safe and easy to ensure he was not near the water.
Children and adults and our pup had the best time- we we able to SUP and kayak together as the owner so kindly dog sat for us.
We also climbed, swam in the pool, in the lake, tobogganed, chilled, and it was still so so relaxing due to the location of that deck…
Pup was happy to watch the birds from there too.
We have booked to return. What better recommendation than that?
The lodge is super spacious, fab storage space and even had a bath!
We just loved it - super relaxing.

The walk around the perimeter of the lake was fab, on lead required, but the owner also provided many details of a number of lovely local walks and parks too.

The retreat is the most perfect place to holiday with your four legged best friend. It has everything you need for your dog whilst being stylish and comfortable for your dogs favourite human. There’s so many places for walks or you can just laze on the gorgeous patio area and watch your dog jump from the attached jetty into the lake for a swim. There is absolutely everything in the retreat for your dog including toys! And yes. Your dog can sit with you on the sofa! Harlow absolutely loved it here and we will definitely be returning.

It's a gorgeous place to relax and have fun at the same time! Loved morning coffees overlooking the lake and my doggo soon settled in, was great to know it was all fenced around the lodge and I could just let him plod around and explore too. He just sat watching ducks for ages and eating treats! Love that it's so dog friendly. Comfy bed and everything else we needed was there. We'll be back!
