Such a fantastic site to stop at. Super friendly staff, pizza delivered to your pitch on a Friday night, gorgeous animal to visit, great dog walk on site , loads of poo bins with free poo bags, fantastic toilets, welcome treat bag for our dog Bella....... the list is endless I really, really liked this site and can't wait to return !

From the moment we arrived the team made us and our dog feel welcome with friendly tips on local walks and a genuine love for dogs. The site is beautifully kept and blissfully peaceful.
There are easy dog walks plus plenty of bins and water points. After muddy adventures there’s a handy dog wash area to rinse off paws.
Truly dog-friendly ethos and layout with peaceful, dark sky nights for stargazing. We left with a tired happy dog.

We have visited here a few times and it is great for dogs with a secure area to be let off the lead, free poo bags and bins and the bonus of a dog wash for when they have had too much fun and muddy paws need a clean. Highly recommend to anyone.

Well thought out area. One of my dogs is a social butterfly and can be around other dogs. My other is a temperamental a##hole at times. So the idea that herding hill have an open area and a closed off area is amazing. Plus bins AND supply poop bags. They are given treat bags to guests with dogs. That one the a##hole over so 10/10 I've recommended this campsite to everyone lol

Dog bath facilities were amazing. 2 large dog walking areas on site. One as a secure field and a separate are were dogs were free to roam if the have good recall. Lots of poo bin dotted around and even provided good quality poo bags. We're definitely made to feel very welcome with our dog.

It’s a lovely site with excellent stress free dog exercise areas. Thoughtfully planned , especially for our highly strung spaniel who doesn’t like many other dogs. Poo bags and bins easily accessible and dog treats inside reception area. Many great walks. Our dog gets exited when she arrives.

I have stayed twice with the dogs ,camping and enjoyed my stays.
I liked having the coffee machine and like to see the animals especially the pig.

The dog washing area has warm water for the dogs. Dogs water bowls everywhere and treat when you check in.

Perfect for dogs!! It has a huge dog walk (1mile circular route) that allows dogs to run free. Also an enclosed section for dogs who are nervous.
Warm water dog wash with everything g you need. Also the accomidation is dog friendly.
You also get a bag of doggie treats on arrival. I have lived in my van for 10 years and this campsite is perfect for my little pooch Oliver

We stayed here on our first Motorhome outing with our Golden Retriever and the staff could not have been more helpful or understanding. Have returned a couple of times since and have always had the same warm reception, welcomed the excellent standard of site facilities and the most spectacular location for walking or just admiring the scenery.

Herding Hill has fabulous facilities for dogs and their owners. This includes an extensive dog walking area where you can let your dog off the lead, a dog washing facility - ideal for muddy dogs, and even a hook on each pod to tie your pooch onto so they are safe and secure when outside. I can't recommend Herding Hill enough - I've been there several times with family, friends and our canine friends and can't wait to go back again!

The site has excellent facilities for dogs! Our dog Sprout absolutely loved the dog field and dog walks around the site and he was so relaxed.

Very dog friendly and welcoming. Doggy goodie bag of treats delivered on arrival. Lots of places to walk your dog around the site and beyond, with paths and roots clearly marked out for you to follow.
Large open dog secure field for your little pooch to run around in. Dog bath spa available for free to clean those muddy paws with hot water and shampoo provided. Each camping pitch is fully set up for your for your pup, with area is clearly marked for your dog to be secured down safely but able to explore freely around your pitch. Extra dog food and treats available to purchase from the on-site shop.

Staff were amazingly friendly, made a huge fuss of my dogs whenever they saw them. Even came out to the car to greet them when we first arrived with a bag full of dog treats. The area they have set aside for the dogs is a great place to let them run and burn off some energy. Overall it is a fantastic camping place for humans as dogs alike.

It’s easy to make place dog friendly but to make place that dog truly love it’s not. Herding Hill Farm has mastered this and our dogs love that place like own home and never felt the same in any other dog friendly place like here.

Stayed here 2 years ago and loved it, our Beagle had a great time running about in the large fenced dog field, we made good use of the poo bag dispensers and bins. The field has close mowed paths for the human visitors and plenty of longer grass for sniffing!
The site has to be the most dog friendly site we have ever visited. Many sites tolerate dogs but Herding Hill welcomes dogs.

We are a family of five, 2 adults, 2 children and one dog...we all absolutely love coming to Herding Hill, and what makes the stay that bit "extra" is the special efforts made for our best furry friend Shep the collie dog. He loves his bag of treats on arrival, as well as the the secure dog field, walks on site and local walks available for adventure! Herding Hill has become one of our family favourite places to stay.

There is a designated dog walk on the site that our Dandy Dinmont’s can’t wait to get out of our motor home something that doesn’t happen at other sites we visit but once there off the leads, it's often difficult to get ours back onto them due to the many enticing scents.

Great campsite, staff very friendly, dog treats offered to my little dog on arrival at reception check in. The dog walk within the site is well set out with beautiful views. The dog bath/wash station is an added bonus. The hooks for securing dogs outside the toilet block is very thoughtful, as I stayed a couple of nights by myself with my dog, it was great to be able to secure my dog while I popped in to use the facilities. Dogs bowls also provided around the facilities. Dog waste bins available near the dog walk area. Lovely walks around the local area accessible directly from the campsite. Perfect spot for anyone visiting with their dogs.

The reason why I believe Herding Hill Farm should be voted for this award, is they have brilliant facilities for dogs. When we stayed here with our dog it meant he was part of our mini adventure. It was made easier by Herding hill farm catering for our dog, the way they did. It was comfort for both us and our dog. There are beautiful scenic walks on the campsite and surrounding areas. They treat our dog as one of us with great service provided. They pay attention to small details by even having little stations with poo bags which I know I run out of or loose them. This is very helpful. They have a new dog field which is perfect to let your dog run free in. I loved our mini adventure here especially being able to take our dog with us.

Me and my partner stayed at herding Hill farm a couple of years ago for his birthday, it is a lovely, amazing place with lots of fields around and dog walking paths! There is dog water bowls scattered around, there is a dog field which has gates and the option to let people join or can stay in there alone with your dog if nervous or not okay around other dogs, you simple move the sign to let other dog walkers aware of your dogs needs which is great! The castle pod which allows dogs is lovely aswell! We can't wait to come back.

Lovely designated dog walking area that is plenty big enough to exercise my energetic Labrador, everything was provided for his stay, bowls, comfy bed which have always had to take our own when we have stayed elsewhere and a tie point so he could enjoy the outside space with us.

Really well laid out dogs walks over an extensive area, with lovely mown pathways . Dedicated dog poo bin. Dog poo bag dispensers all available. The icing on the cake was a dedicated dog field which was completely enclosed so your dogs could run free off the lead. We will be back!

We visited Herding Hill in June when the heat wave was on ..Our young spaniel had a brilliant time .
They gave us a spacious pitch ,lots of nice walks even in the heat early morning and late at night ..am absolutely brilliant little secure field to let. Rorie run and have fun ,the dog shower was great for cooling him off when it was too hot during the day ..Rorie also liked seeing the animals every day ..they have thought of everything to make their holiday safe and fun 😊 x

The campsite has the best dog walk on any site we have stayed on in the UK. The walk is round a field above the site and a couple of times round the field a you have walked nearly a mile! There are also many dogs walks around the area. A dog lovers paradise.

Such a lovely campsite with an excellent facilities for dogs and owners. There is a full field at the campsite with a pathway where the grass is kept short, poo bins with bags provided. Walks straight from the campsite. There’s even a dog shower with warm water for those muddy paws. The wardens are really friendly and can’t do enough for you. Such a well kept, spotless campsite. Perfect..... If you and your dog love's peace and the countryside, then it's the place for you. We was welcomed by Phil and Sue lovely couple with a wealth of knowledge of the area and things to do,the site has a fantastic big area for you to walk your dog also an enclosed area If you want to throw a ball for your dog too, also a lovey bed for him and treats on arrival, the castle pods are fantastic with a fab spacious and powerful shower,also everything you could want in your pod too, all very clean,also the fire is a fantastic extra especially if visiting in winter, can't wait to return

We voted for Herding Hill as they not only welcomed us with open arms but also our beloved Lakeland Terrier, Poppy. The site has a dedicated dog walk area and provides stocked bins for dogs. Within their well stocked site shop they also cater for dogs. All in, it is one of our favourite sites to visit in our VW campervan.

Stayed last year and loved the location, how welcome our dog was too. Very handy to find poo bags by bins when the one in my pocket was open at both ends! We would love to visit again but our new van (9m 5th wheel) is too large to fit and manoeuvre onto the pitches - no motor movers for these vans.

We have visited Herding Hill on 4 occasions with our 2 dogs, English Setter and Labrador. The dog walking area is the best we have ever visited during our regular camping trips, with clean and empty dog bins along with providing dog waste bags. I have stayed at Herding Hill numerlious times. In the glamping pods the site and the pods have always been immaculate . I travel on my own plus my Spaniel so look for sites that I feel save with staff around if I thought there was a problem.There is a large field away from the camping area and the children's play area to let you dogs run free safely. From the site there are so many walks with abus service that you can catch to bring you back after a strenuous walk along the magnificent Hadrian's wall. I can't recommend the site highly enough for the lovely staff, cleanest toilet block ever hot tubs at the end of the day play area for my dog. Even seeing the northern lights.with a glass of wine in the evening. Can't wait to go back..
