Girvan is such a great place to visit with or without a dog. As a dog owner, I can relax and enjoy my days out knowing that my dog will be welcomed everywhere from the amazingly huge beach to the brilliant Italian ice cream shop. Pubs, restaurants and cafes all allow me in with my dog and many offer doggie treats etc. It takes all the stress away knowing I can take my lovely wee girl wherever I go.

Girvan is a great place to visit with dogs. There is a fab beach with plenty poo bins on the prom. Lovely places to walk, along the beach, the prom or the countryside. If you head into the town, premises that allow dogs are clearly marked with dog friendly window stickers. Several of the cafes allow dogs inside, and some even have doggy menu's! The ice cream parlour also has doggy ice cream. As long as you are a responsible dog owner you are made feel very welcome.

Susanne Arbuckle, August 2023

There is a wide range of attractions and businesses that welcome dogs from amusement arcades to independent shops. The beach is fantastic for dogs to run about on and there are plenty of places to go for walks too.

Even the local bike hire business has doggy trailers and there are lots of places to eat and drink with your dog, There is even a cafe with a doggy menu!

A dog friendly sticker scheme makes it easy to find places that welcome your dog.

A wonderful seaside town with people working so hard in the background to reinvent it as a desirable and fun place to live and visit. Businesses are trying to keep current, the dog friendly scheme being one of many. Girvan has a tremendous community spirit and people with huge hearts, who are so passionate about their town.
