The doggy diner Durham is such a friendly place to go. We socialized our puppy there 3 years ago and always visit when we can. Always a friendly atmosphere with lots support for both humans and dogs. The staff make this cafe what it is.

Lovely place with incredibly friendly and informative staff. A really good range of affordable toys and treats that have clearly been carefully selected. Great coffee with cute little details like a paw print on a latte make it a great place for photos with both your human and dog friends.

Without a doubt, the most dog friendly cafe I have been to. The dogs are the guests, the humans are the lucky people who get to accompany them. That said, the human food is delicious, especially the red velvet cheesecake and nothing is too much bother for Chris and his team.

The Doggie Diner is just fab! Warm and welcoming staff, great food and drinks and lots of fuss for the dogs. An excellent place for dogs to meet and socialise but also to get used to being in a cafe environment. On top of this the cafe organises social walks, art events and has a little retail area along with a playpen, they really have got it all covered and they're a lovely team.

The minute we mention Doggy Diner Dexter is up and ready to get in Mummies Car to see all his fur friends and human friends. Loves his sausages given in a slow feeder sits immediately he sees them coming. So friendly and welcoming and Grandma and I love the puppies helping them all socialise.

We have visited many dog friendly places and this is by far our favourite. We are always made to feel very welcome, the range of food and drink is great and the dog treats are fantastic. There’s also a useful retail part for any bits you need. This cafe helped our shy cockerpoo socialise with other dogs in a controlled and safe way and he came on so much. They always make a fuss of the dogs when we visit and they know where they are from the second we get out the car!

Ever since the first time I took my labrador pup to their diner the experience has always been amazing. She is three now and we continue to go with our two lurchers who greatly enjoy the experience of meeting new dogs and people. The staff are always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They often do a Sunday dog walk that my partner and I attend with our three dogs, a lovely walk and a bit of socialisation. The food is always really tasty, especially the ccakes It's always a nice welcoming place to be for those with and without dogs.

Received a very warm welcome. Great selection of cakes and they do smashing bacon and sausage paninis too! It's obvious they're big dog lovers, they have a good selection of cakes for 4 legged friends. A "woofin" went down extremely well with my pup! We will definitely be returning soon!

This place is fantastic! Toys, treats and all sorts for the dogs. The staff are fantastic, so welcoming and patient. It's obvious they love dogs. They offer great social activities too. Regular pup walks. Breed social events. I know my dog and I enjoy our weekly visits. The place is so well managed and very clean. So easy to access too. I also find this place is great for a very diverse range of people, they all feel welcomed and relaxed. My dog gives it a 10/10.

Staff are amazing, always make us feel very welcome and very engaged. Great atmosphere, very relaxed and great for all dogs. Our puppy was scared of other dogs at first, we tried to take him to puppy classes elsewhere but he was still terrified and shaking, however when taking him to the Doggie Dinner he came out of his shell, plays with other dogs and is completely relaxed- it’s like a different dog. The selection of doggie treats and food is amazing too.

We randomly turned up one morning and just so happened to turn up to the puppy group with our pup.
It was such an amazing experience we now go every weekend to socialise our puppy and have some of the great treats for humans and doggies!
Not just that but there dog toys are cheaper then pets at home which is and added bonus haha
The owners are great and give tips to help while your dogs are in such a busy social environment.
Overall great food and great place would recommended to any dog person !

The atmosphere is always welcoming (and the food and drink is great). Our 2-year-old dog is excitable and noisy, especially after almost a year in complete lockdown with no access to people or other dogs. We can’t always take him to places labelled “dog friendly” because his behaviour is frowned upon and we feel quite judged as his parents (owners). But not in the Doggy Diner. We are always made to feel welcome there, and so is our “naughty” dog.

We have been coming to the Doggie Diner Durham since they opened, I can truly say it's one of our top places to bring our dog 2 year old Cooper.
The Doggie Diner deserve this award for always putting our beloved dogs and their customers first in such a personal way.
The owner and staff acknowledge each customer by name as well as their dog, greeting the dogs with such enthusiasm and welcoming attention.
The owner and staff personalise each customers visit, not only knowing what Cooper loves and prefers to eat/ drink from, prior to Covid they would always make sure Coopers favourite toy was available to carry around the diner or to sit with whilst we enjoyed the amazing cake on offer!
The diner also put on different activities (paw printing/ photographers/ Halloween/ Christmas dress up comps) for both customers and their dogs to get envolved in.
This really is a community cafe with the addition of a love for dogs and where the owner and staff consistently demonstrate their genuine love for the job that they do.

We came to for the first time in August 2017. It had only been open for a week or two and we were the first customers to order their Dog Afternoon Tea. Our dog Luna could be quite nervous meeting new people and very very nervous meeting other dogs but the first experience was amazing and the more we came to the cafe the more relaxed and chilled she became. The cafe has changed ownership since then and nothing against the original managers but the new team make your experience even better and as soon as you leave you’re already thinking ahead to your next visit. Everyone who comes in (staff or customers) are incredibly welcoming, friendly and they always remember you (and always remember my absolute favourite hot drink every time we go in - I don’t even have to say what I want) We’ve since got another dog (Ru) but unfortunately due to the pandemic had only been twice with her before everything had to close. As things are getting a little bit more ‘normal’ we will be becoming regulars again to see all the fantastic team, spoil our Luna and Ru with sausages and pup cakes and enjoy my speciality coffee with gingerbread or caramel syrup.

Yes it’s a dog friendly cafe, but it’s so much more than that...it’s the centre of a community, a smiling face, a friendly chat, a book club, a place for advice from other dog owners, a relaxed environment, great food, good value. It’s the best!!

This place is just awesome, very friendly and helpfull staff who just love dogs. Great food and cakes to die for. They have a great selection of fresh dog treats. If you have not been you are definitely missing out!!!

The owner is awesome, loves his dogs. The staff are wonderful always greet every dog. My chocolate Labrador absolutely loves the place and goes nuts when we go there. He loves all the staff, always looks for attention off them, which he gets.
