Happy Dogs, Happy Owner. been looking for a place for my dogs( one is nervous) this was ideal, relaxing no need to use my spider sense for other dogs. comfortable lodge, friendly helpful owners.

From being greeted to leaving it was perfect. I could let my dog run free in the woods with no worries, lovely lodge and lots of outdoor space around the lodge completely fenced in if someone else was in the wooded area. As soon as bookings opened for next year I booked in to go twice! Would 100% recommend to anyone and especially those with reactive pups.

This is my doggies happy place, they don't get off lead so the woods is a godsend. Also hard to find somewhere with fully enclosed garden area with high fences all round. It's so peaceful in middle of rural Dumfries & Galloway lots to do near by. This really is a really really dog friendly getaway.

An amazing place where you can take your digs on holiday, acres and acres of fenced in forest, lovely clean well equipped lodges, our dogs hate going home after staying there, 3rd visit in a couple of weeks time, can't wait. Already booked for next year.

This place is amazing and the Ladies that run it are equally amazing 🤩 The lodges are spacious and comfortable and the 18 acres of private woods are a god send if you have a reactive dog.
We have visited this place twice and and we look forward to returning.

I go here at least once a year with my dogs.
It’s a fantastic place for the dogs with the secure woods.
The dogs can relax and I can relax knowing no one else is in the woods.

Being the dog parents to two reactive German shepherds, (not their fault both attacked by an offlead dog with no owner in sight) this little part of paradise gives us and our two girls the most relaxing, offlead with no fear of running into another dog the life they deserve, the ladies who own Balmaghie are just so understanding and they've got it 100% right, plenty of room outside the lodges themselves for the dogs to have a bit run and we know they are safe, 15 acres of totally fenced in woodland that you are secure and locked into so they can run free to their hearts content, we're already booked back in for next year and we seriously can't wait to go back, the ladies deserve all the recognition and awards they get Sadie and Luna loved it there as did we seeing how content and utterly shattered they were , good night's sleep all round ☺️

Friendly and very helpful owners, large, clean and well equipped lodges, like moving into a 3 bedroom bungalow. Secure garden that backs on to a wonderful 19 acre wood that the use of is shared between 3 lodges but sole use is ensured by padlocking the gate when using. Owners will dog sit if you want to go out on your own.
All you need is to bring yourselves, your dogs, toiletries food and clothes, the rest is provided. Fresh eggs and milk in the fridge on arrival. Love it, 3rd stay coming later this month.

Stayed in balmaghie Lodge a few years ago had everything our dogs needed and was great for us humans quite relaxing knowing your dogs are 100%safe to run free in a secure garden with great woodland walks would highly recommend a visit if you enjoy holidaying with your dogs hosts are very helpful and friendly

The Lodges are beautiful, peaceful and well equipped, as well as being completely secure so your dogs can roam safely and securely around the lodge.
The 18ha secure woodland is an amazing place to be able to safely walk your dogs safe in the knowledge that you will not be disturbed (as you are able to lock yourself in).
Balmaghie Dog Friendly Holiday Lodges is an amazing holiday spot which I have been to a number of times with my dogs and will return many times in the future.

Amazing place for holidays with dogs. Even dogs with no recall can be safely allowed to explore the wood’s happily as all secure. Lodges lovely but most importantly it’s a fantastic holiday for dogs. They just adore it. So many happy memories of taking a nervous reactive foster with no recall there and he had a fantastic time. Still look at videos now

Balmaghie is absolute heaven for dogs and their owners! Three perfectly appointed lodges share the use of a completely secure 18 acre woodland and, for someone with reactive dogs or dogs that can't be let off lead for whatever reason, this secluded gem is ideal. We have stayed there 3 times within 12 months and will be back in the new year. The freedom I can give my dogs while we're there makes me feel like the best husky mum ever! The owners have thought of everything that dogs and owners may need whilst on holiday and really go above and beyond to make their guests feel welcome - more like friends than customers, to be honest. Although some places are advertised as dog friendly, Balmaghie is in a league of its own for a truly relaxing holiday where the wellbeing and enjoyment of the dogs staying there is truly the focus of the entire enterprise.

1000% dog friendly, owners friendliness and hospitality to ensure you enjoy your holiday with your dogs, cannot be beat.
Many holidays here with my pack of dogs (12) and Balmaghie offers such a unique dog orientated break, where else has a secure 18acre fenced woodlands right beside the most superbly comfortable of accommodation with views and tranquility to die for!

Lovely comfortable lodges, quiet, rural location but only 5 miles from nearby town which has abundance of restaurants, takeaways and shops. There’s a huge large, totally private and secure fenced woods which you have sole use of. No charge for dogs and no limit on the amount of dogs permitted. The two ladies who run this facility are welcoming and friendly and can’t do enough to help you.

This is the most dog friendly place I have ever stayed. Great, comfortable lodges with no restrictions on where your dogs can go, each lodge is in its own very secure large wildlife garden ideal and safe for dogs to explore and each lodge is able to make use of a large secure woodland area where you can have sole use for you and your dogs meaning even anti social dogs can run free off their leads safely - can’t wait for our next visit in November
